Virtual Tourism Using Samsung Gear VR Headset

2019 International Conference on Information Science and Communication Technology (ICISCT), 2019
In past few years virtual reality has emerged to become the center of attraction for people. Virtual reality may change the manner in which many of the common things are being used today such as it has already changed the gaming world by introducing virtual games. It provides an environment that is somehow look alike that it is real-world or we can say

Gear VR and leap motion sensor applied in virtual rehabilitation for manual function training

Proceedings of the 5th Workshop on ICTs for improving Patients Rehabilitation Research Techniques, 2019
Virtual reality systems using gestural interfaces are becoming common in treatment of people with disabilities. One reason for this popularity is due to the availability of low cost tracking sensors. We present a serious game interface that uses the Leap Motion sensor (coupled to Gear VR headset) for manual function rehabilitation.

System of Upper Limb Motor Rehabilitation Training Using Leap Motion and Gear VR in Sessions of Home Game Therapy

2019 IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC), 2019
Motor rehabilitation systems using gestural interfaces are becoming common in the treatment of people with disabilities in the upper limbs. In this article we present a serious immersive game that uses the Leap Motion sensor (coupled with Gear VR) to track hand movements in game therapy activities.

Comparing the Gear VR, Oculus Go, and Oculus Quest

Unreal for Mobile and Standalone VR, 2019
In this chapter, we look at the key differences between the Gear VR, the Oculus Go, and the Oculus Quest (based on prerelease information and subject to change when it ships). Even though each one of these headsets runs on an Android operating system, hardware differences play an important role when targeting the individual headset and its use. We will

A vision-based head tracker for fish tank virtual reality-VR without head gear

Proceedings Virtual Reality Annual International Symposium '95, 2002
A practical and robust head-position tracking method using computer vision is presented. By combining two simple image processing techniques, this tracker can, report the position of the user's head in real time. Whole image processing is performed by software running on normal mid-range workstations.

Film editing: new levers to improve VR streaming

ACM SIGMM Conference on Multimedia Systems, 2018
Streaming Virtual Reality (VR), even under the mere form of 360° videos, is much more complex than for regular videos because to lower the required rates, the transmission decisions must take the user's head position into account.
