Development of high-strength gel dosimeter made by 3D gel printer

Nano-, Bio-, Info-Tech Sensors, and 3D Systems II, 2017
In the radiation therapy, ionization chambers and/or film dosimeters are usually used to measure dose distribution, and three-dimensional absorbed dose distribution of the human body is calculated by computer simulation. However, at the treatment site, measurements of actual three-dimensional absorbed dose distribution become more important, because ...

Determination of the tensile strength of gels

Journal of Polymer Science, 1955
AbstractA method has been devised and an apparatus constructed for measuring the tensile strength of viscoelastic gels. The method consists of extruding the gel vertically through a nozzle of diameter of 2–14 mm. and weighing the gel‐column falling by its own weight.

High‐Strength Cellulose/Poly(ethylene glycol) Gels

ChemSusChem, 2008
AbstractCellulose gel membranes have been prepared by a pre‐gelation method employing cellulose solutions in aqueous NaOH–thiourea obtained at low temperature. The cellulose gels were then swollen by low‐molecular‐weight polyethylene glycol (PEG; MW<1000 g mol−1), and the morphology, structure and mechanical properties of the cellulose/PEG gels were

Dynamic viscoelasticity of fibrin gels: Dependence on ionic strength

Thrombosis Research, 1976
Abstract The dynamic rigidity and loss moduli of fibrinogen solutions with various ionic strengths are determined during clotting. The kinetic analysis of the clotting curves indicates that the fibrin gels formed at high and low ionic strengths consist of non-flexible thick fibrous bundles, while those formed at moderate ionic strengths consist of ...

The Relationship of Thickening Time. Gel Strength, and Compressive Strength of Oilwell Cements

SPE Production Engineering, 1986
Summary A previous investigation1 of the effect of thickening times on early compressive-strength and gel-strength development has been expanded to include a wider range of well conditions, a greater variety of slurry types, and a more thorough evaluation of static gel strength.

Compression Strength of Dairy Gels and Microstructural Interpretation

Journal of Food Science, 1991
ABSTRACT Contour plots were developed for the compression stress (at 20% deformation) of single‐component, mixed and filled protein gels. Samples were made by heating and acidification from skim milk powder, SMP (0–20% TS), whey protein isolate, WPI (0–10% TS), and recombined cream, within pH 3.6–3.9, 4.6–4.8 and 5.1–5.3. At higher pH,

Microfabrication of High-Strength Gels with a 3D Printer

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2018
Using 3D printer Acculas, we fabricated a high-intensity particle double network gel (P-DN gel) . In this apparatus, the spot diameter of the UV laser to be irradiated can be set to 30 to 300 μm and the z pitch can be set to 30 μm at minimum. The data used was mesh of size 250 μm and the set value of spot diameter was 30 μm.

Influence of probe shape on gel strength test

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 1995
Abstract The mechanical resistance of gel systems was measured by means of a gel strength tester. Measurements were performed using a standard sample holder and probes of different geometry (conical, spherical and cylindrical). The systems tested were a κ-carrageenan aqueous gel and a semisolid hydrophilic colloidal solution of ...

Effect of Gel on the Green Strength of Natural Rubber

Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 2002
Abstract The outstanding properties of natural rubber, e.g., green strength and rapid crystallization, were attributed to the chemical branching that formed at both chain ends of the rubber molecule during the preservation of the latex in the presence of ammonia.
