Techniques for clustering gene expression data [PDF]
Many clustering techniques have been proposed for the analysis of gene expression data obtained from microarray experiments. However, choice of suitable method(s) for a given experimental dataset is not straightforward. Common approaches do not translate

Herbicide Resistance of Tobacco Chloroplasts Expressing the bar Gene
The chloroplast transformation system has the potential advantages of maternal inheritance and high-level expression of heterologous genes. We studied the expression of the bar gene in tobacco chloroplasts to test these ideas. The bar gene conferring tolerance to the herbicide phosphinothricin (PPT) encodes phosphinothricin acetyltransferase (PAT).

A temporal switch model for estimating transcriptional activity in gene expression [PDF]
Motivation: The analysis and mechanistic modelling of time series gene expression data provided by techniques such as microarrays, NanoString, reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction and advanced sequencing are invaluable for developing an ...

Hyperoxic treatment induces mesenchymal-to-epithelial transition in a rat adenocarcinoma model. [PDF]
Tumor hypoxia is relevant for tumor growth, metabolism and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). We report that hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) treatment induced mesenchymal-to-epithelial transition (MET) in a dimethyl-alpha-benzantracene induced mammary ...

Genetic mapping of the sex-linked barring gene in the chicken
The sex-linked barring gene of the chicken (Gallus gallus), first identified in 1908, produces an alternating pattern of white and black bars in the adult plumage. More recent studies have shown that melanocytes in the developing feather follicle of the Barred Plymouth Rock experience premature cell death, whereas initially it was thought that ...

Hutchinson–Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS) is a rare genetic disease that causes premature aging symptoms, such as vascular diseases, lipodystrophy, loss of bone mineral density, and alopecia. HGPS is mostly linked to a heterozygous and de novo mutation

Identification and Expression Analysis of EPSPS and BAR Families in Cotton
Weeds seriously affect the yield and quality of crops. Because manual weeding is time-consuming and laborious, the use of herbicides becomes an effective way to solve the harm caused by weeds in fields. Both 5-enolpyruvyl shikimate-3-phosphate synthetase

A web-based pathway enrichment analysis module for the PharMeBINet database
In modern molecular biology, the quantification of proteins, RNA, and DNA is a standard procedure. Resulting in the generation of large data, researchers need appropriate tools for interpretation.
