Polydnaviruses as Symbionts and Gene Delivery Systems
Textbooks define viruses as infectious agents with nucleic acid genomes (RNA or DNA), which replicate inside living host cells to produce particles (virions) that can transfer the genome to other cells [1], [2]. The Polydnaviridae was recognized as a family of viruses in 1995, and is currently divided into two genera named the Bracovirus and Ichnovirus

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Chicken adenovirus (CELO virus) particles augment receptor-mediated DNA delivery to mammalian cells and yield exceptional levels of stable transformants. [PDF]
Delivery of genes via receptor-mediated endocytosis is severely limited by the poor exit of endocytosed DNA from the endosome. A large enhancement in delivery efficiency has been obtained by including human adenovirus particles in the delivery system ...

Carbohydrate receptor-mediated gene transfer to human T leukaemic cells [PDF]
The mucin-type carbohydrate Tn cryptantigen (GalNAcα1-O-Ser/Thr, where GalNAc is N-acetyl-D-galactosamine) is expressed in many carcinomas, in haemopoietic disorders including the Tn syndrome, and on human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) coat glycoproteins,

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Delivery Systems for Gene-based Vaccines [PDF]
Along with the elucidation of the role of cytotoxic T lymphocytes in the immune responses against a number of pathogens and cancer, and with the increased understanding of the cellular processing mechanisms of antigens for generation of these cells, has come an increased focus on vaccines that can generate cellular immunity along with antibodies ...

Impact of polyplex micelles installed with cyclic RGD peptide as ligand on gene delivery to vascular lesions [PDF]
Gene therapy is expected to open a new strategy for the treatment of refractory vascular diseases, so the development of appropriate gene vectors for vascular lesions is needed. To realize this requirement with a non-viral approach, cyclo(RGDfK) peptide (

Engineering peptides into antibodies—opportunities and strategies for therapeutic innovation
Peptides and antibodies occupy complementary therapeutic niches. Peptides recognize difficult targets in a compact format, while antibodies add specificity, long half‐life, and effector functions. This review examines strategies that merge both modalities—peptide grafting into loops, terminal and Fc fusions, and bioconjugation—highlighting how ...
