Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Delivery of human apolipoprotein (apo) E to liver by an [E1(-), E3(-), polymerase(-), pTP(-)] adenovirus vector containing a liver-specific promoter inhibits atherogenesis in immunocompetent apoE-deficient mice

open access: yes, 2006
Recombinant adenovirus (rAd)-mediated apoE gene transfer to the liver of apoE(-/-) mice is anti-atherogenic. However, first generation rAd vectors were associated with immune clearance of transduced hepatocytes, while an improved [E1(-), E3(-) polymerase(

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Investigation Of Gene Delivery Via Silicon Nanotubes Using The Reporter Gene Egfp

open access: yes, 2015
With the rising prominence of nanotechnology, materials such as silicon nanotubes offer great potential in a wide variety of fields. On such a small scale, the physical and chemical properties of the constituent elements are dramatically changed.

Emerging Concepts and Challenges in Rheumatoid Arthritis Gene Therapy

open access: yes, 2020
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic inflammatory joint disease affecting about 1% of the population worldwide. Current treatment approaches do not ensure a cure for every patient.

Unraveling the Regulatory Mechanisms Underlying Tissue-Dependent Genetic Variation of Gene Expression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
It is known that genetic variants can affect gene expression, but it is not yet completely clear through what mechanisms genetic variation mediate this expression.
