Genetic analysis of yield components in wheat [PDF]
Using the line x tester analysis, we studied combining ability, gene effects and mode of inheritance of number of spikelets per spike, grain weight perspike and harvest index, using 5 lines, 3 testers and 15 hybrids of wheat.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Towards more biological mutation operators in gene regulation studies [PDF]
Genetic regulation is often viewed as a complex system whose properties emerge from the interaction of regulatory genes. One major paradigm for studying the complex dynamics of gene regulation uses directed graphs to explore structure, behaviour and ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Generation mean analysis of grain yield and its related traits in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) [PDF]
Generation mean analysis was performed using three crosses namely DL 88 x K 560, K 603 x Azad, RD 2552 x NDB 1020 to study the nature and magnitude of gene effects for yield and its component characters in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.). The F1, F2, BC1 and
