Potent Melanin Production Enhancement of Human Tyrosinase Gene by Tat and an Entrapment in Elastic Cationic Niosomes: Potential Application in Vitiligo Gene Therapy

Chemical Biology & Drug Design, 2012
Potent melanin production enhancement of human tyrosinase plasmid (pAH7/Tyr, P) in mouse melanoma cells (B16F10) by Tat peptide (T) and an entrapment in elastic cationic niosomes (E) was described. The E composed of Tween 61/cholesterol/dodecyl dimethyl ammonium bromide at 1:1:0.5 molar ratio was prepared by freeze‐dried emptying liposomes method.

Tat-regulated production of multimerized TAR RNA inhibits HIV-1 gene expression.

The New biologist, 1991
Transcriptional activation of gene expression directed by the long terminal repeat (LTR) of the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) requires both the Tat activation response element (TAR) and the Tat protein. Mutants lacking a functional tat gene are not able to replicate.

Production and purification TAT-Cre: A cell penetrating fusion protein that recombines floxed genes

2009
Cre recombinase is an enzyme that recognizes loxP (Locus of Crossover in P1; 34 base pairs length) sites inserted into a target gene that flank a specific sequence of DNA. This enzyme first cuts a DNA sequence that is encompassed by flanking loxP (floxed) sites and then rejoins the two ends of DNA resulting in recombination of a gene.

Contribution of antibody response to recombinant HIV-1 gene-encoded products nef, rev, tat, and protease in predicting development of AIDS in HIV-1-infected individuals.

Journal of acquired immune deficiency syndromes, 1991
The relation between antibody-response profiles to Escherichia coli-produced HIV-1 nef, rev, tat, and protease proteins and the risk of developing AIDS was studied using stored serum samples taken sequentially from a cohort of 195 initially symptom-free men who were seropositive for antibodies to HIV-1 structural proteins and 72 men who seroconverted ...
