On characterizations of g n-helices with Euler angles
Curvature and torsion, in their most general forms, are defined in terms of Euler angle-based parametrization via the Cartan matrix, which leads to the Serret-Frenet equations.

A generalized allosteric mechanism for cis-regulated cyclic nucleotide binding domains. [PDF]
Cyclic nucleotides (cAMP and cGMP) regulate multiple intracellular processes and are thus of a great general interest for molecular and structural biologists.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Insights into electron wind force by a helical dislocation reconfiguration
Summary: Many efforts for decades have been made to explore electron wind force, produced by electric current itself under electropulsing treatment. However, the clear evidence of this force is hard to separate from Joule heating. Here we study a helical

Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

The Voltage-Dependent Deactivation of the KvAP Channel Involves the Breakage of Its S4 Helix
Voltage-gated potassium channels (Kv) allow ion permeation upon changes of the membrane electrostatic potential (Vm). Each subunit of these tetrameric channels is composed of six transmembrane helices, of which the anti-parallel helix bundle S1-S4 ...

Structural and Biochemical Insights into the Peptidoglycan Hydrolase Domain of FlgJ from Salmonella typhimurium. [PDF]
FlgJ is a glycoside hydrolase (GH) enzyme belonging to the Carbohydrate Active enZyme (CAZy) family GH73. It facilitates passage of the bacterial flagellum through the peptidoglycan (PG) layer by cleaving the β-1,4 glycosidic bond between N ...

The Id family of helix‐loop‐helix proteins function as negative regulators of DNA binding, basic helix‐loop‐helix proteins in the regulation of cell growth and differentiation. We report here on the identification of a 17 kDa variant of the 14 kDa Id‐3 protein termed Id‐3L (long version) which possesses a unique 60 amino acid carboxy‐terminus generated

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

III-harmonic Curves in SL2ℝ˜\widetilde {{\rm{S}}{{\rm{L}}_2}\mathbb{R}} Space
Some work has been done in the study of non-geodesic III-harmonic curves in some model spaces. In this paper, we study III-harmonic curves in SL2ℝ˜\widetilde {{\rm{S}}{{\rm{L}}_2}\mathbb{R}} space. We give necessary and su cient conditions for helices to
