Spin‐Split Edge States in Metal‐Supported Graphene Nanoislands Obtained by CVD

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Combining STM measurements and ab‐initio calculations, we show that zig‐zag edges in graphene nanoislands grown on Ni(111) by CVD retrieve their spin‐polarized edge states after intercalation of a few monolayers of Au. ABSTRACT Spin‐split states localized on zigzag edges have been predicted for different free‐standing graphene nanostructures.

Accuracy Analysis and Improvement of Calculation Method of Gear System Dynamics Equation

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2017
Taking the single-stage gear rotor system as the research object,a generalized finite element model with total freedom is established. The calculation speed and the accuracy of Newmark method and Fourier series method are compared in solving dynamics ...

Application of iterative generalized short-time Fourier transform to fault diagnosis of planetary gearboxes

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2017
Due to the effect of the modulation part, the energy diffuses around the surrounding area of dominating frequencies and diminishes the readability of the time-frequency representation when short-time Fourier transform (STFT) is used to process ...

Generalized Fourier transform and its application to the volume integral equation for elastic wave propagation in a half space

open access: yes, 2009
In the present study, a generalized Fourier transform for time harmonic elastic wave propagation in a half space is developed. The generalized Fourier transform is obtained from the spectral representation of the operator derived from the elastic wave ...

Curvelets, Wave Atoms, and Wave Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We argue that two specific wave packet families---curvelets and wave atoms---provide powerful tools for representing linear systems of hyperbolic differential equations with smooth, time-independent coefficients.

Flexoelectrically Induced Polar Topology in Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Twisted SrTiO3 bilayers host polar vortices of flexoelectric origin, revealed through combined experiment and theory. By reconstructing polarization from the toroidal moment of strain gradients, the work establishes a 3D chiral state with broken inversion and mirror symmetries.

Observability of string vibrations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2014
Transversal vibrations $u=u(x,t)$ of a string of length $l$ under three essential boundary conditions are studied, where $u$ is governed by the Klein--Gordon equation: $$u_{tt}(x,t) = a^2u_{xx}(x,t) - cu(x,t), (x,t) \in [0,l]\times \mathbb{R}; \ 0 < a ...

Atomistic Mechanisms Triggered by Joule Heating Effects in Metallic Cu‐Bi Nanowires for Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bi doped metallic Cu nanowires are promising for spintronics thanks to the stabilization of a giant spin Hall effect. However, heat resulting from current injection forces Bi to leave solution, forcing segregation into monoatomic decorations which evolve into coherent crystalline aggregates.

Blow-up for the sixth-order multidimensional generalized Boussinesq equation with arbitrarily high initial energy

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2019
In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem for the sixth-order multidimensional generalized Boussinesq equation with double damping terms. By using the improved convexity method combined with Fourier transform, we show the finite time blow-up of ...
