Prime Implicate Generation in Equational Logic

open access: yesJournal of Artificial Intelligence Research, 2017
We present an algorithm for the generation of prime implicates in equational logic, that is, of the most general consequences of formulæ containing equations and disequations between first-order terms. This algorithm is defined by a calculus that is proved to be correct and complete.

Generalized Ramanujan Primes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In 1845, Bertrand conjectured that for all integers $x\ge2$, there exists at least one prime in $(x/2, x]$. This was proved by Chebyshev in 1860, and then generalized by Ramanujan in 1919. He showed that for any $n\ge1$, there is a (smallest) prime $R_n$ such that $π(x)- π(x/2) \ge n$ for all $x \ge R_n$. In 2009 Sondow called $R_n$ the $n$th Ramanujan

Global Rather Than Vertical‐Selective Saccadic Abnormalities in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To test whether vertical saccades are preferentially affected in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Methods PSP patients (n = 24) were compared to age‐matched controls (n = 94) and two degenerative groups (Alzheimer's disease, n = 20; Lewy body disease, n = 50).

Identities with Generalized Derivations in Prime Rings

open access: yesMediterranean Journal of Mathematics, 2011
Let \(R\) be a prime ring with \(\text{char\,}R\neq 2\), \(Q_l\) and \(Q_r\) the left and right Martindale quotient rings of \(R\), and \(F,G\colon R\to R\) generalized derivations of \(R\). The authors prove that if for all \(x\in R\), \(F(x)G(x)=0\) then \(F(x)=xa\) for \(a\in Q_l\) and \(G(x)=bx\) for \(b\in Q_r\) with \(ab=0\).

Either or neither, but not both : locating the effects of masked primes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Execution of a response that has been primed by a backward-masked stimulus is inhibited (negative compatibility effect; NCE). Three experiments investigated the locus of this inhibition. Masked primes (left- or right-pointing arrows) were followed either

Integrated PANoptosis Profiling Identifies Immunosuppressive Subtypes and a Prognostic Signature With Functional Validation of MLKL in Glioblastoma

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The prognosis of glioblastoma (GBM) remains highly unfavorable, largely due to high tumor heterogeneity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment. However, the functional role of PANoptosis in this context is poorly understood. Methods Patients were stratified via K‐means clustering. A risk score model was constructed using prognosis‐

Minerva Primes interview, 01 September 2006

open access: yes, 2006
Minerva Primes was born on a farm in small town in Georgia. She was reared in the church. At an early age, Primes developed a nuanced understanding of racial discrimination and segregation. She was well-educated and became an advocate for education.

Prime numbers between squares [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A well known conjecture about the distribution of primes asserts that between two consecutive squares there is always at least one prime number. The proof of this conjecture is out of reach at present, even under the assumption of the Riemann Hypothesis.

Generalized Bernoulli numbers and 𝑚-regular primes

open access: yes, 1984
A prime p is defined to be m-regular if p does not divide the class number of a certain abelian number field. Several different characterizations are given for a prime to be m-regular, including a description in terms of the generalized Bernoulli numbers.
