Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Generalized repunit primes

open access: yes, 1993
Generalized repunits have the form ( b n − 1 ) / ( b − 1 ) ({b^n} - 1)/(b - 1) . A table of generalized

Partial depletion of plasminogen activator inhibitor‐1 decreases subcutaneous fat cell hypertrophy and liver cholesterol in high‐fat‐fed female mice

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.

Primeness of Generalized Parking Functions

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics
Classical parking functions are a generalization of permutations that appear in many combinatorial structures. Prime parking functions are indecomposable components such that any classical parking function can be uniquely described as a direct sum of prime ones.

On Generalized Semiderivations of Prime Near Rings [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2015
LetNbe a near ring. An additive mappingF:N→Nis said to be a generalized semiderivation onNif there exists a semiderivationd:N→Nassociated with a functiong:N→Nsuch thatF(xy)=F(x)y+g(x)d(y)=d(x)g(y)+xF(y)andF(g(x))=g(F(x))for allx,y∈N. In this paper we prove that prime near rings satisfying identities involving semiderivations are commutative rings ...

Ligand‐dependent transcriptional heterogeneity in cell cycle gene expression delays G1/S entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
EGF and HRG induce distinct G1/S progression programs in ErbB2‐amplified BT474 breast cancer cells. Despite activating the potent ErbB2–ErbB3 heterodimer, HRG does not accelerate cell‐cycle entry. Instead, EGF promotes earlier restriction‐point passage via ERK–FOS signaling, whereas HRG activates the AKT–MYC axis, driving transcriptional heterogeneity ...

Generalized Derivations on Prime Near Rings [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2013
LetNbe a near ring. An additive mappingf:N→Nis said to be a right generalized (resp., left generalized) derivation with associated derivationdonNiff(xy)=f(x)y+xd(y)(resp.,f(xy)=d(x)y+xf(y)) for allx,y∈N. A mappingf:N→Nis said to be a generalized derivation with associated derivationdonNiffis both a right generalized and a left generalized derivation ...

ON RUSSO'S CONJECTURE ABOUT PRIMES [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Let n, k be positive integres with k>2, and let b be a posItIve number with b> I. In this paper we prove that if n>C(k), where C(k) IS an effectively computable constant depending on k, then we have C (n,k)

Smaller is better: nanobodies meet NMR

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nanobodies are single‐domain antigen‐binding fragments derived from camelid heavy chain antibodies. Their small size, high stability, and exceptional specificity make nanobodies uniquely useful probes for NMR studies of protein dynamics, transient conformational states, and protein–protein interactions.
