Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

The linear generator as integral component of an energy converter for electric vehicles
The system in which the linear generator (LG) is integrated is called free-piston linear generator (FPLG). He is able to convert chemical energy into electrical energy by using a combustion process.

core
The paper outlines methods developed to obtain circuit parameters of a superconducting synchronous generator with a coreless rotor. The need for full 3D finite element modelling is emphasised and appropriate techniques devised to estimate relevant ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Two-Dimensional Automatic Mesh Generator for Finite Element Analysis
In this study a new automatic mesh generator for 2- dimensional finite element analysis is proposed, and its effectivity is surveyed through a number of test examples. Proposed one is for a micro-computer, and the program is written in BASIC.

The Interaction between Short- and Long-Term Energy Storage in an nZEB Office Building
The establishment of near-autonomous micro-grids in commercial or public building complexes is gaining increasing popularity. Short-term storage capacity is provided by means of large battery installations, or, more often, by the employees’ increasing ...

Hybrid Wind-Solar System with UPQC [PDF]
The hybrid wind-solar system is a combination of renewable energy sources, specifically wind and solar, that is utilized for power generation. While wind power has historically been used for various purposes such as sails, windmills, and wind pumps, it ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Topology Comparison Study of Five-Phase Wound-Field Doubly Salient Fault Tolerant Generators
To present the characteristics of pole number and pole shape of the core, the five-phase wound-field doubly salient generators (WFDSGs) with symmetric phase inductance are studied and optimised in this paper, considering the split ratio, slot fill factor
