Coevolution Theory of the Genetic Code at Age Forty: Pathway to Translation and Synthetic Life

open access: yesLife, 2016
The origins of the components of genetic coding are examined in the present study. Genetic information arose from replicator induction by metabolite in accordance with the metabolic expansion law.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Kryterium genetyczne w sporze o aborcję [GENETIC CRITERION IN DISCUSSION ABOUT ABORTION] [PDF]

open access: yesAnaliza i Egzystencja, 2013
In the article I claim that the problem of abortion cannot be solved by referring tosuch biological fact, as having human genetic code by any prenatal being.

A novel nuclear genetic code alteration in yeasts and the evolution of codon reassignment in eukaryotes

open access: yesbioRxiv, 2016
The genetic code is the universal cellular translation table to convert nucleotide into amino acid sequences. Changes to sense codons are expected to be highly detrimental.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

The Platonic Receptacle (Hypodoché), Whitehead’s Philosophy, and Genome Evolution

open access: yesViruses, 2017
The discovery of a universal genetic code utilized by all existing organisms became the backbone of biology. The coding capacity underwent changes during evolution, but its main fluctuation results from its different reading and regulation.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Xenomicrobiology: a roadmap for genetic code engineering

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, 2016
Biology is an analytical and informational science that is becoming increasingly dependent on chemical synthesis. One example is the high‐throughput and low‐cost synthesis of DNA, which is a foundation for the research field of synthetic biology (SB ...

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein
