Cryptosporidium: Identification and Genetic Typing

Current Protocols in Microbiology, 2017
Abstract Cryptosporidium spp. are obligate protozoan parasites of the gastrointestinal tract of vertebrates, including humans. In the majority of human cases, the diarrheal disease cryptosporidiosis is caused by either the human‐adapted species Cryptosporidium hominis or the zoonotic Cryptosporidium parvum ‘bovine genotype’ (also known as ...

PMSM Identification Using Genetic Algorithm

2019 26th International Workshop on Electric Drives: Improvement in Efficiency of Electric Drives (IWED), 2019
The paper researches the opportunity of using genetic algorithms for the parameters identification process of a permanent magnets synchronous motor under information interferences conditions. As the quality criterion of identification, the proximity of the reaction of a permanent magnets synchronous motor and the response of its dynamic model to ...

Subset ARMA Model Identification Using Genetic Algorithms

Journal of Time Series Analysis, 2000
Subset models are often useful in the analysis of stationary time series. Although subset autoregressive models have received a lot of attention, the same attention has not been given to subset autoregressive moving‐average (ARMA) models, as their identification can be computationally cumbersome.

System identification by genetic algorithm

Proceedings, IEEE Aerospace Conference, 2003
This paper presents a method for identifying systems through their input-output behavior and the Genetic Algorithm (GA). The advantages of this technique are, first, it is not dependent on the deterministic or stochastic nature of the systems and, second, the globally optimized models for the original systems can be identified without the need of a ...

Genetic adaptive identification and control

Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, 1999
Abstract Genetic algorithms are computer programs that are developed to crudely emulate the evolution of biological populations according to Darwin’s theory of natural selection and the concept of inheritance from genetics put forward by Mendel. Suppose that a controller for a plant is viewed as an individual decision-maker that has been chosen from ...

Gene Identification: Forward Genetics

2013
Forward genetics aims to identify the sequence variation(s) responsible for a given phenotypic trait. Unlike reverse genetics, which seeks to find the mutated phenotype resulted from known sequence changes, gene identification via forward genetics has different process.

Genetic search for object identification

1998
We attack the problem of recognizing real, planar objects from two-dimensional, intensity images taken from arbitrary viewpoints using genetic algorithms. More specifically, we use genetic algorithms to search for a geometric mapping that brings subsets of points comprising the model and subsets of points comprising the scene into alignment.

System identification via genetic programming

UKACC International Conference on Control. Control '96, 1996
Compared to bit string coded GAs, GP is a more powerful system identification tool. However, there is no guarantee that GP will produce an exact solution. Perhaps that is the price associated with the increased flexibility of the paradigm. Bancroft (1995) reported that, failures to discover the correct model structure of time series were attributed to ...

Genetic Programming for System Identification

2011
This chapter discusses the features of genetic programming based identification approaches, starting with the connected theoretical background. The presentation reveals both advantages and limitations of the methodology and offers several recommendations useful for making GP techniques a valuable alternative for mathematical models’ construction. For a
