A genetic linkage study of choroideremia

open access: yesOphthalmic Paediatrics and Genetics, 1986
One hundred and twenty-two members of 15 choroideremia families have been used in a genetic linkage study of choroideremia (TCD) using four DNA probes situated on the X chromosome. Linkage was analysed using DNA probes DXS14 (p58-1), DXYS1 (pDP 34), DXS178 (p212) and DXS177 (lambda 2.7).

Genes and Linkage Groups in Genetics [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1925
I FIND it a little difficult to deal with Prof. MacBride's reply to my letter, in NATURE of December 26, since it seems to me not to take any account of the numerous facts bearing on the point which I raised. I feel that the only course is very briefly to enumerate the chief of these facts, and leave other biologists to judge if Prof. MacBride is right

An extremely rare association of Dyggve-Melchior-Clausen syndrome with mania: Coincidence or comorbidity

open access: yesIndian Journal of Psychological Medicine, 2015
Dyggve-Melchior-Clausen syndrome is a progressive spondylo-epi-metaphyseal dysplasia associated with mental retardation, characterized by a triad of skeletal deformities (short trunk dwarfism, scoliosis, microcephaly, and limb deformities), facial ...

Resultants in genetic linkage analysis

open access: yesJournal of Symbolic Computation, 2006
Statistical models for genetic linkage analysis of k-locus diseases are k-dimensional subvarieties of a (3^k-1)-dimensional probability simplex. We determine the algebraic invariants of these models with general characteristics for k=1, in particular we recover, and generalize, the Hardy-Weinberg curve.

A gene-derived SNP-based high resolution linkage map of carrot including the location of QTL conditioning root and leaf anthocyanin pigmentation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Purple carrots accumulate large quantities of anthocyanins in their roots and leaves. These flavonoid pigments possess antioxidant activity and are implicated in providing health benefits.

Quantitative trait loci influencing low density lipoprotein particle size in African Americans

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2006
Genomic regions that influence LDL particle size in African Americans are not known. We performed family-based linkage analyses to identify genomic regions that influence LDL particle size and also exert pleiotropic effects on two closely related lipid ...

Genomic Resource Development for Hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla (Thunb.) Ser.)—A Transcriptome Assembly and a High-Density Genetic Linkage Map

open access: yesHorticulturae, 2021
Hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla) is an important ornamental crop that has been cultivated for more than 300 years. Despite the economic importance, genetic studies for hydrangea have been limited by the lack of genetic resources.

High-Density Genetic Linkage Map Construction and QTL Mapping of Grain Shape and Size in the Wheat Population Yanda1817 × Beinong6

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
High-density genetic linkage maps are necessary for precisely mapping quantitative trait loci (QTLs) controlling grain shape and size in wheat. By applying the Infinium iSelect 9K SNP assay, we have constructed a high-density genetic linkage map with 269

New technologies for delineating and characterizing the lipid exome: prospects for understanding familial combined hyperlipidemia

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2009
This review summarizes the progress made in cutting through the biological and genetic complexity of the Gordian knot that is familial combined hyperlipidemia. We particularly focus on how the application of new genomic technologies, especially massively

Genome-wide linkage analysis of 972 bipolar pedigrees using single-nucleotide polymorphisms. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Because of the high costs associated with ascertainment of families, most linkage studies of Bipolar I disorder (BPI) have used relatively small samples. Moreover, the genetic information content reported in most studies has been less than 0.6.
