Genotype-by-Environment Interaction in Crop Improvement
2004In this paper, we discuss the role of genotype by environment interactions (GEI) in crop improvement, especially the following: (1) Implications of GEI in crop improvement, (2) Nature and causes of GEI, (3) Approaches for studying GEI, and (4) Strategies for using GEI in crop improvement.

Genotype-by-Environment Interactions Under Water-Limited Conditions
From a plant breeding and statistical perspective, genotype-by-environment interactions (GEI) for traits are considered to have occurred when there is a change in the relative performance of genotypes for the traits between different sets of environmental conditions.Cooper, M. +4 more

The interaction of genotype and environment in plant development
1965The basic proposition of genetic control of development has long since become incontrovertible, as has the fact that development is variously conditioned by the environment in which it takes place. Only recently, however, have some of the specific facets of heredity-environment interactions been subject to analysis.

Genotype-by-environment interactions: RLRRC experience
1997Rainfed lowland rice is grown in bunded fields on 37 million ha of South and Southeast Asia, with yields averaging only 2.3 t/ha. Hydrologic conditions may fluctuate from submergence to drought, with major consequences for root growth, nutrient availability and weed competition.
