Correlation Between Genotype and Age of Onset in Leukoencephalopathy With Vanishing White Matter

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2021
Purpose: Leukoencephalopathy with vanishing white matter (VWM) is an autosomal recessive leukoencephalopathy caused by mutations in any of the five genes encoding the subunits of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2B (eIF2B).

Association between MAPT polymorphism but not APOE promoter and elite rugby athlete status [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
INTRODUCTION: Incidence and outcomes of concussions have been hypothesised to be genetically influenced. The APOE Promoter G219T (rs405509) polymorphism has been associated with differential promoter activity and unfavourable outcomes after traumatic ...

Characterisation of the role played by ELMO1, GPR141 and the intergenic polymorphism rs918980 in Fuchs' dystrophy in the Indian population

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study reports the upregulation of ELMO1 and GPR141 in human Fuchs' endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) corneal endothelium and ultraviolet A‐induced FECD mice model. A genetic association of an intergenic single nucleotide polymorphism rs918980 present between both genes is observed with FECD in the Indian population.

Boceprevir for untreated chronic HCV genotype 1 infection.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2011
BACKGROUND Peginterferon-ribavirin therapy is the current standard of care for chronic infection with hepatitis C virus (HCV). The rate of sustained virologic response has been below 50% in cases of HCV genotype 1 infection. Boceprevir, a potent oral HCV-

Bioengineering facets of the tumor microenvironment in 3D tumor models: insights into cellular, biophysical and biochemical interactions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Pooled DNA genotyping on Affymetrix SNP genotyping arrays [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2006
Abstract Background Genotyping technology has advanced such that genome-wide association studies of complex diseases based upon dense marker maps are now technically feasible. However, the cost of such projects remains high.

Noise in Genotype Selection Model

open access: yes, 2003
We study the steady state properties of a genotype selection model in presence of correlated Gaussian white noise. The effect of the noise on the genotype selection model is discussed.

Ledipasvir and sofosbuvir for untreated HCV genotype 1 infection.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2014
BACKGROUND In phase 2 studies, treatment with the all-oral combination of the nucleotide polymerase inhibitor sofosbuvir and the NS5A inhibitor ledipasvir resulted in high rates of sustained virologic response among previously untreated patients with ...

Possible role of human ribonuclease dicer in the regulation of R loops

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
R loops play an important role in regulating key cellular processes such as replication, transcription, centromere stabilization, or control of telomere length. However, the unscheduled accumulation of R loops can cause many diseases, including cancer, and neurodegenerative or inflammatory disorders. Interestingly, accumulating data indicate a possible

EGG ALBUMEN QUALITY AS AFFECTED BY BIRD ORIGIN [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2010
The purpose of study was to assess the effect of bird genome on egg albumen quality. Egg albumen harvested from seven local strains of laying hens: S-55, K-44, K-66, A-88, A-22, M-55 and V-44 were taken as experimental material.
