Genetic variability, correlation and path coefficient for grain yield and quantitative traits of elite rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes at Uttar Pradesh [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2015
Studies on genetic variability, correlation and path coefficient analysis were conducted on 30 elite rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes. Analysis of variance among 30 genotypes showed significant difference for all characters studied.

Genotype by Environment Interaction on Grain Yield Stability and Iron and Zinc Content in OPV of Pearl Millet in Ghana Using the AMMI Method

open access: yesInternational Journal of Agronomy, 2021
Twenty-two open-pollinated varieties (OPVs) of pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) genotypes were tested in two locations for three seasons in Ghana to estimate the magnitude of genetic variability, heritability, and stability for grain yield and related ...

The inter-colonial variance of the mean genotypic worker values decreases with loci and mating number in the model.

open access: yes, 2012
(a) The number of loci contributing to the genotypic variation strongly decreases the inter-colonial variance regardless of recombination rate. The effect is most pronounced when low mating frequencies are assumed.

PHENOTYPIC AND GENOTYPIC VARIANCE AND HERITABILITY OF STAY GREEN CHARACTER AMONG 22 ELITE SORGHUM (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) GENOTYPES

open access: yes, 2015
Delaying of leaf senescence (stay green) is an effective strategy for increasing of crop yield, particularly under water-limited conditions. Study of genotypic variance of stay green is very useful for breeding program of stay green character. Replicated

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Flowering time control in European winter wheat

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2014
Flowering time is an important trait in wheat breeding as it affects adaptation and yield potential. The aim of this study was to investigate the genetic architecture of flowering time in European winter bread wheat cultivars. To this end a population of

Genetic Dissection and Quantitative Trait Loci Mapping of Agronomic and Fodder Quality Traits in Sorghum Under Different Water Regimes

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Livestock provides an additional source of income for marginal cropping farmers, but crop residues that are used as a main source of animal feed are characteristically low in digestibility and protein content. This reduces the potential livestock product

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
