An S-shaped machining test is proposed for the ISO 10791-7 standard to verify the performance of five-axis machining centers. However, investigation of the factor that has the most influence on the geometrical accuracy of finished S-shaped workpieces has

Calibration of Nanopositioning Stages
Accuracy is one of the most important criteria for the performance evaluation of micro- and nanorobots or systems. Nanopositioning stages are used to achieve the high positioning resolution and accuracy for a wide and growing scope of applications ...

Error bounds in stochastic-geometric normal approximation [PDF]
We provide normal approximation error bounds for sums of the form $\sum_x \xi_x$, indexed by the points $x$ of a Poisson process (not necessarily homogeneous) in the unit $d$-cube, with each term $\xi_x$ determined by the configuration of Poisson points ...

In this article two complementary methods are developed. Firstly, a method to add precision in large machine tools with modular lightweight structures (APLM), which performs the compensation of geometrics and dynamics errors using embedded intelligence,

Till now, most calibration methods only compensate geometric error caused by inaccurate kinematic parameters, while the desired accuracy may still not be achieved when the robot is performing long-stroke, heavy-duty loading and unloading tasks.

Finite Element Error Estimates on Geometrically Perturbed Domains [PDF]
AbstractWe develop error estimates for the finite element approximation of elliptic partial differential equations on perturbed domains, i.e. when the computational domain does not match the real geometry. The result shows that the error related to the domain can be a dominating factor in the finite element discretization error.

Generation of curved high-order meshes with optimal quality and geometric accuracy [PDF]
We present a novel methodology to generate curved high-order meshes featuring optimal mesh quality and geometric accuracy. The proposed technique combines a distortion measure and a geometric L2-disparity measure into a single objective function.

Group approximation in Cayley topology and coarse geometry, Part III: Geometric property (T) [PDF]
In this series of papers, we study correspondence between the following: (1) large scale structure of the metric space bigsqcup_m {Cay(G(m))} consisting of Cayley graphs of finite groups with k generators; (2) structure of groups which appear in the ...
