Histone Modification Complex JMJ704‐HDA709 Negatively Regulates Salinity Tolerance in Rice
This study reveals that the rice histone demethylase JMJ704 interacts with HDA709―a H3K9ac deacetylase characterized herein―to form a chromatin‐modifying complex. Under salt stress, OsWRKY72 recruits this complex through interaction with JMJ704 to target loci, repressing the expression of oxidative stress and salt‐responsive genes via removal of ...

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Soil seed bank dynamics in transferred topsoil: Evaluating restoration potentials
Global change, increasing human population growth and urbanisation represent increasing pressures on biodiversity and ecosystem function. It is now widely recognised that conservation of existing natural fragments will not be sufficient to maintain ...

A fluorinated hydrogen‐bonded organic framework nanocarrier (PFC‐1‐F) loaded with PYR and coated with HACC enables multi‐stimuli‐responsive (enzyme/ROS/pH) release at infection sites. Exhibiting targeted antifungal activity against Sclerotium rolfsii, modulating plant antioxidant defense, and demonstrating favorable biosafety across plant, soil, and ...

Effects of cadmium on germination of six Ipomoea aquatica breeds
When a high cadmium level is available in polluted soil, it can seriously affect plant growth and metabolic function. Data is scarce concerning on Cd toxicity to seeds germination.

A biomimetic artificial extracellular matrix is assembled directly on Pseudomonas fluorescens by co‐assembling amyloid‐like lysozyme and alginate at the cell surface. This conformal nanocoating acts as both a hydration buffer and a physiological priming layer, markedly enhancing desiccation tolerance, seed adhesion, storage stability, and biocontrol ...

Phytochrome-interacting factor 1 (PIF1) inhibits light-dependent seed germination. The specific function of PIF1 in seed germination is partly due to its high level of expression in imbibed seeds, but the associated regulatory factors have not been ...

A periosteum‐inspired Janus piezoelectric scaffold converts micromechanical forces into electrical signals and synergizes with controlled resveratrol release. This dual action reprograms endothelial metabolism, drives H‑type vessel formation, and restores bone–vessel coupling in diabetic bone defects.

The relationship between strigolactones and Striga hermonthica infection in cereals
Cereal production in Africa is under increasing constraint due to the obligate, out-crossing, hemiparasitic weed Striga hermonthica (Del.) Benth, a member of the Scrophulariaceae family.
