ABSTRACT Tropical countries, particularly in Africa, are experiencing more frequent deforestation events, often due to agricultural expansion. Deforestation can increase sunlight penetration in freshwater ecosystems, leading to increased average water temperatures and stronger diel temperature fluctuations.

Effect of Mesembryanthemum crystallinum and its derived D‐pinitol on HMG‐CoA reductase and tyloxapol‐induced hyperlipedemia

M. crystallinum extract (MCE) contains d‐pinitol compound and d‐pinitol bind to the active site of 3‐hydroxy‐3‐methylglutaryl‐CoA reductase. MCE reduced hepatic fat and improved hyperlipidemic and related metabolic parameters in tyloxapol‐induced hyperlipidemia mice model.
