The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Electrophoretic Mobility Shift Assays with GFP-Tagged Proteins (GFP-EMSA)
The electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) is commonly used for the study of nucleic acid-binding proteins. The technique can be used to demonstrate that a protein is binding to RNA or DNA through visualization of a shift in electrophoretic mobility of the nucleic acid band.

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.
