ABSTRACT Background Over the past several decades, advances in basic and clinical research have increasingly established cancer‐induced cachexia as a distinct pathophysiological syndrome that warrants targeted therapeutic approaches alongside conventional anticancer treatments. Despite its high prevalence and substantial impact on morbidity, mortality,

Obesity is associated with accelerated gastric emptying. Weight‐loss interventions each impose a distinct emptying signature: acceleration after sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass, delay after endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty, intragastric balloon, and GLP‐1 receptor agonists.

Ghrelin Receptor Ligands: Design and Synthesis of Pseudopeptides and Peptidomimetics.
International audienceMainly synthesized in the stomach, ghrelin is a peptide hormone which stimulates growth hormone secretion and appetite, thus promoting food intake and body-weight gain.

Ghrelin Drives Food Intake by Attentional Bias Toward Food Cues
Fasting and ghrelin enhanced engagement with food‐predictive cues in a home‐cage FED3 task, increasing correct and premature responses while reducing omissions. However, ghrelin preferentially increased food intake when food availability was signaled by a predictive cue, whereas fasting increased intake regardless of cue context.

The mechanisms involved in alcohol use disorders are complex. It has been shown that ghrelin is an important signal for the control of body weight homeostasis, preferably by interacting with hypothalamic circuits, as well as for drug reward by activating

Selected orally administered probiotics and functional‐food interventions may alter gut microbial ecology and intestinal barrier function. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, microbial components, and endocrine signals—including short‐chain fatty acids, bile acids, tryptophan metabolites, and lipopolysaccharide—may influence systemic immune, metabolic, and
