Allosteric modulation of ghrelin receptor signaling by lipids

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
The membrane is an integral component of the G protein-coupled receptor signaling machinery. Here authors demonstrate that lipids regulate the signaling efficacy and selectivity of the ghrelin receptor GHSR through specific interactions and bulk effects ...

Mutations in the ghrelin receptor gene GHSR in congenital hypopituitarism

open access: yesProblems of Endocrinology, 2017
The results of molecular genetic studies indicate the potential involvement of ghrelin in the pathogenesis of some dwarfism forms. However, in the case of isolated somatotropin insufficiency, mutations in the ghrelin receptor gene are a rare cause of the disease.

Nutrient-sensing growth hormone secretagogue receptor in macrophage programming and meta-inflammation

open access: yesMolecular Metabolism
Objective: Obesity-associated chronic inflammation, aka meta-inflammation, is a key pathogenic driver for obesity-associated comorbidity. Growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR) is known to mediate the effects of nutrient-sensing hormone ghrelin in ...

Immunohistochemical and hybridocytochemical study on ghrelin signalling in the rat seminiferous epithelium.

open access: yesFolia Histochemica et Cytobiologica, 2010
The results of presented study demonstrate expression of ghrelin, its functional receptor GHSR-1a and their genes in spermatogenic cells of rat testis suggesting their functioning within seminiferous epithelium.

A Sleep‐Specific Midbrain Target for Sevoflurane Anesthesia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
Sevoflurane has been the most widely used inhaled anesthetics with a favorable recovery profile; however, the precise mechanisms underlying its anesthetic action are still not completely understood.

Relationship between abnormal symptoms of Prader-Willi syndrome model --Snord116 deletion mice and Ghrelin signaling pathway [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016

Ghrelin Increases Beta-Catenin Level through Protein Kinase A Activation and Regulates OPG Expression in Rat Primary Osteoblasts. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Ghrelin, by binding growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R), promotes osteoblast proliferation but the signaling mechanism of GHS-R on these cells remains unclear. Since canonical Wnt/β-catenin pathway is critically associated with bone homeostasis,

Analysis of Population Structure and Selection Signatures in Two Iraqi Fat‐Tailed Sheep Breeds

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 5, September 2025.
Awassi sheep exhibit clear genetic separation, whereas Hamdani sheep show an admixed profile, with iHS, ROH and Tajima's D analyses identifying breed‐specific candidate genes. Enrichment in immune response, hormone regulation and cellular signalling pathways highlights adaptive evolution and guides future breeding and conservation.

Chloride Balance in Preterm Infants during the First Week of Life

open access: yesInternational Journal of Pediatrics, 2012
Objective. To describe the chloride balance in infants born 25–32-week gestation, analyze the association of chloride changes with hydroelectrolytic status and their relationship with perinatal conditions, morbidities, and neurological outcome.

Characterization of NTS‐to‐VTA projection neurons reveals higher‐order synaptic organization and distinct responsiveness to cholecystokinin

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 603, Issue 17, Page 4817-4843, September 1, 2025.
Abstract figure legend Here we construct an anatomical map of brainstem projections to the ventral tegmental area (VTA) and investigate the neurochemical and neurophysiological nature of these VTA‐projecting nucleus of the solitary tract (NTS) neurons.
