Relativistic jets in narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies. New discoveries and open questions
Before the launch of the Fermi satellite only two classes of AGNs were known to produce relativistic jets and thus emit up to the γ-ray energy range: blazars and radio galaxies, both hosted in giant elliptical galaxies.

RELATIONS OF STRUCTURE COMPONENTS OF GIANT RADIO SOURCES
Our previous estimates of physical parameters of galaxies and quasars with steep radio spectrum have showed their great radio luminosity and giant radio structure.

High-resolution imaging of galaxies in rest-frame UV has revealed the existence of giant star-forming clumps prevalent in high-redshift galaxies. Studying these substructures provides important information about their formation and evolution and informs ...

The structure of giant elliptical galaxies in poor clusters of galaxies
Detailed photographic surface photometry is presented of the nine first brightest galaxies in poor clusters suspected of being cD galaxies. The surface photometry is put on an absolute scale, using multiaperture photoelectric photometry. Oemler (1976) and de Vaucouleurs (1948) laws are fitted to the profiles to derive structural parameters, and the ...

Are ring galaxies the ancestors of giant low surface brightness galaxies? [PDF]
Giant low surface brightness galaxies (GLSBs) have flat discs extending up to ~100 kpc. Their formation is a puzzle for cosmological simulations in the cold dark matter scenario. We suggest that GLSBs might be the final product of the evolution of collisional ring galaxies.

Geometrized Vacuum Physics. Part XII: Naked "Galaxies" – "Particles" of Dark Matter?
This article is the twelfth part of the scientific project under the general title "Geometrized Vacuum Physics Based on the Algebra of Signature " (Batanov-Gaukhman, 2023a, 2023b, 2023c, 2023d, 2023e, 2023f, 2024a, 2024b, 2024c, 2024d, 2024e).

To the problem of the secondary CMB anisotropy separation
We study contribution to the secondary anisotropy maps of cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation which difficult to account for faint sources. Two effects are investigated.

The spatial distribution of dwarf and giant galaxies in and around the Virgo cluster
The Virgo cluster is one of the closest clusters to us where we can further study the evolution of galaxies, with several infalling substructures and several filaments around it that have been reported.

Ancient giants: on the farthest galaxy at z = 8.6 [PDF]
Abstract The observational frontiers for the detection of high-redshift galaxies have recently been pushed to unimaginable distances with the record-holding Lyman alpha emitter (LAE) UDFy-38135539 discovered at redshift z= 8.6. However, the physical nature and the implications of this discovery have yet to be assessed.
