Dynamics of Fluid Vesicles in Flow through Structured Microchannels [PDF]
The dynamics of fluid vesicles is studied under flow in microchannels, in which the width varies periodically along the channel. Three types of flow instabilities of prolate vesicles are found.

An evolutionary molecular dynamics platform is used to design P1.6, a membrane‐active peptide that senses lipid packing defects in viral envelopes. P1.6 adopts a stabilized α‐helical structure upon membrane contact, disrupts virus‐like liposomes, and damages HIV‐1 particles.

Clinical periodontal diagnosis
Abstract Periodontal diseases include pathological conditions elicited by the presence of bacterial biofilms leading to a host response. In the diagnostic process, clinical signs such as bleeding on probing, development of periodontal pockets and gingival recessions, furcation involvement and presence of radiographic bone loss should be assessed prior ...

Signature of a non-harmonic potential as revealed from a consistent shape and fluctuation analysis of an adherent membrane [PDF]
The interaction of fluid membranes with a scaffold, which can be a planar surface or a more complex structure, is intrinsic to a number of systems - from artificial supported bilayers and vesicles to cellular membranes.

Wireless Bioelectronic Modulation of Membrane Potential in Glioblastoma Using Carbon Nanotube Porins
A schematic illustrating glioblastoma cell membrane modulation using carbon nanotube porins (CNTPs) and an applied voltage. CNTPs enable ion flux leading to changes in membrane potential. This figure summarizes the concept of bioelectronic control of cell membrane voltage.

A novel minimal in vitro system for analyzing HIV-1 Gag mediated budding
A biomimetic minimalist model membrane was used to study the mechanism and kinetics of cell-free in vitro HIV-1 Gag budding from a giant unilamellar vesicle (GUV).

Membrane‐Mediated Force Transduction Drives Stick‐Slip Motion of Lipid Vesicles
A rotating magnetic field actuates a ferromagnetic particle inside a lipid vesicle, generating internal flows that induce stick‐slip propulsion near a surface. Membrane properties—elasticity, excess area, and phase behavior—modulate this motion by shaping stress dissipation and force transduction.

Self-assembly mechanism of pH-responsive glycolipids : micelles, fibers, vesicles, and bilayers [PDF]
A set of four structurally related glycolipids are described: two of them have one glucose unit connected to either stearic or oleic acid, and two other ones have a diglucose headgroup (sophorose) similarly connected to either stearic or oleic acid.

Challenges of modeling pristane‐induced lupus in non‐human primates
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in cynomolgus monkeys was modeled by two intraperitoneal injections of pristane at a dose of 3.5 mL/kg, administered at weeks 1 and 23. Serum samples from all monkeys that received pristane tested positive for antinuclear antibodies.
