Existence and regularity of a global attractor for doubly nonlinear parabolic equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2002
In this paper we consider a doubly nonlinear parabolic partial differential equation $$ frac{partial eta (u)}{partial t}-Delta _{p}u+f(x,t,u)=0 quad hbox{in }Omega imesmathbb{R}^{+}, $$ with Dirichlet boundary condition and initial data given.

Cross-attractor modeling of resting-state functional connectivity in psychiatric disorders

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2023
Resting-state functional connectivity (RSFC) is altered across various psychiatric disorders. Brain network modeling (BNM) has the potential to reveal the neurobiological underpinnings of such abnormalities by dynamically modeling the structure-function ...

Existence of global attractor for the Trojan Y Chromosome model

open access: yes, 2012
This paper is concerned with the long time behavior of solution for the equation derived by the Trojan Y Chromosome (TYC) model with spatial spread. Based on the regularity estimates for the semigroups and the classical existence theo- rem of global ...

Asymptotic behavior of a delay predator-prey system with stage structure and variable coefficients

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2008
In this paper, we establish a global attractor for a Lotka-Volterra type reaction-diffusion predator-prey model with stage structure for the predator, delay due to maturity and variable coefficients.

Global dynamics of a fourth-order parabolic equation describing crystal surface growth

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2019
In this paper, we study the global dynamics for the solution semiflow of a fourth-order parabolic equation describing crystal surface growth. We show that the equation has a global attractor in H4per(Ω) when the initial value belongs to H1per(Ω).

On birth of discrete Lorenz attractors under bifurcations of 3D maps with nontransversal heteroclinic cycles [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Lorenz attractors are important objects in the modern theory of chaos. The reason from one side is that they are met in various natural applications (fluid dynamics, mechanics, laser dynamics, etc.). At the same time, Lorenz attractors are robust, in the sense that they are generally not destroyed by small perturbations (autonomous, non-autonomous ...

THE EXISTENCE OF GLOBAL ATTRACTOR FOR CONVECTIVE CAHN-HILLIARD EQUATION

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper, we consider the convective Cahn-Hilliard equa- tion. Based on the regularity estimates for the semigroups, iteration tech- nique and the classical existence theorem of global attractors, we prove that the convective Cahn-Hilliard equation ...

Time-Dependent Global Attractor for a Class of Nonclassical Parabolic Equations

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
Based on the recent theory of time-dependent global attractors in the works of Conti et al. (2013) and di Plinio et al. (2011), we prove the existence of time-dependent global attractors as well as the regularity of the time-dependent global attractor ...

Attractors of Cartan foliations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
The paper is focused on the existence problem of attractors for foliations. Since the existence of an attractor is a transversal property of the foliation, it is natural to consider foliations admitting transversal geometric structures. As transversal structures are chosen Cartan geometries due to their universality.

Dynamics of discrete random Burgers-Huxley systems: attractor convergence and finite-dimensional approximations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this paper, we apply the implicit Euler scheme to discretize the (random) Burgers-Huxley equation and prove the existence of a numerical attractor for the discrete Burgers-Huxley system. We establish upper semi-convergence of the numerical attractor to the global attractor as the step size tends to zero.
