Globin Interactions with Lipids and Membranes

2008
Many bacterial globins have been demonstrated to interact with membrane lipids, and several hypotheses in support of a functional role for membrane localization have been set forth. Bacterial globins have been suggested to facilitate oxygen diffusion to terminal oxidases, to protect oxidases from nitric oxide or eventually to preserve the integrity of ...

Control of catalysis in globin coupled adenylate cyclase by a globin-B domain

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 2015
The globin coupled heme containing adenylate cyclase from Leishmania major (HemAC-Lm) has two globin domains (globin-A and globin-B). Globin-B domain (210-360 amino acids) may guide the interaction between globin-A and adenylate cyclase domains for the regulation of catalysis.
