Hot stars in globular clusters [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Globular clusters are ideal laboratories to study the evolution of low-mass stars. In this review, I shall concentrate on two types of hot stars observed in globular clusters: horizontal branch stars and UV bright stars. The third type, the white dwarfs, are covered by Bono in this volume.

Chemical evolution of star clusters

open access: yes, 2009
I discuss the chemical evolution of star clusters, with emphasis on old globular clusters, in relation to their formation histories. Globular clusters clearly formed in a complex fashion, under markedly different conditions from any younger clusters ...

The Colors of Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy Globular Cluster Systems, Nuclei and Stellar Halos

open access: yes, 2004
We present the results of a Hubble Space Telescope WFPC2 F555W and F814W survey of 69 dwarf elliptical galaxies (dEs) in the Virgo and Fornax Clusters and Leo Group.

Massive star cluster formation and evolution in tidal dwarf galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Reproduced with permission from Astronomy & Astrophysics. © 2019 ESOThe formation of globular clusters remains an open debate. Dwarf starburst galaxies are efficient at forming young massive clusters with similar masses as globular clusters and may hold ...

The ESO-VLT MIKiS Survey Reloaded: Exploring the Internal Kinematics of NGC 6440

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
In the context of the ESO-VLT Multi-Instrument Kinematic Survey of Galactic globular clusters, here we present the line-of-sight velocity dispersion profile of NGC 6440, a massive globular cluster located in the Galactic bulge.

Are there S stars in galactic globular clusters? [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1984
Deux etoiles geantes rouges dans NGC 6723 montrent des bandes ZrO augmentees. Comparaisons avec les geantes de 47 Tuc et analogie avec les etoiles des Nuages de Magellan.

THE SEQUENTIAL STAR FORMATION IN GLOBULAR CLUSTERS

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2008
The results of [O/Na] abundance modelling in globular clusters NGC 2808 and NGC 6752 are presented. The evolutionary scenario allowing to reproduce characteristic observed features of [O/Na] distribution function has been suggested.

Multiple populations in globular clusters. Lessons learned from the Milky Way globular clusters

open access: yes, 2012
Recent progress in studies of globular clusters has shown that they are not simple stellar populations, being rather made of multiple generations. Evidence stems both from photometry and spectroscopy.

Signatures of multiple stellar populations in unresolved extragalactic globular/ young massive star clusters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We present an investigation of potential signatures of the formation of multiple stellar populations in recently formed extragalactic star clusters.

Likely Detection of γ-Ray Pulsations of PSR J1717+4308A in NGC 6341 and Implication of the γ-Ray Millisecond Pulsars in Globular Clusters

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
We report our analysis results for the globular cluster (GC) NGC 6341 (M92), as a millisecond pulsar (MSP) J1717+4308A has recently been reported found in this GC.
