Inhibition of FOXM1 Synergizes with BH3 Mimetics Venetoclax and Sonrotoclax in Killing Multiple Myeloma Cells through Repressing MYC Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma remains a major clinical challenge. This study shows that FOXM1 contributes to resistance against BH3 mimetics in multiple myeloma cells. The FOXM1 inhibitor NB73 enhances the effectiveness of BH3 mimetics by reducing FOXM1 expression and suppressing the MYC pathway.

Molecular Aggregates of Wheat Starch–Protein Systems: Structural Disruption and Engineered Digestibility via Non‐Covalent Synergy

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
This study combines molecular dynamics simulations and multi‐scale experiments to decode how wheat proteins (globulin, gliadin, and glutelin) form non‐covalent networks with starch, reducing structural order, and slowing enzymatic hydrolysis. These findings provide a blueprint for tailoring starch‐based foods with controlled glycemic response ...

Enhanced Multitask Learning with Attention Sparse Routing Mechanism for Intelligent Diabetes Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The model leverages patient time‐space information for pattern feature representations. Encoders extract first and second‐order features, aggregated with categorical embeddings and dense features. Task‐specific and shared experts use gated networks, with a dispatch layer routing information for diabetes risk evaluation and blood glucose prediction ...

The nature of Bence-Jones proteins. Chemical similarities to polypetide chains of myeloma globulins and normal gamma-globulins.

open access: yes, 1962
The chemical relations among Bence-Jones proteins, myeloma proteins, and normal γ-globulins have been investigated by a variety of means. Starch gel electrophoresis in 8 M urea of reduced alkylated Bence-Jones proteins yielded patterns of bands ...

Clinlabomics‐Enabled Blending Ensemble Learning for Low‐Cost Pan‐Cancer Detection and Classification Using Routine Clinical Laboratory Data

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Researchers develop clinlabomics assisted for cancer identification, an artificial intelligence‐powered system using routine clinical lab data to detect and identify 10 cancer types. Tested on 19 199 individuals, it achieves 90.39% sensitivity and 82.41% specificity in cancer detection, with 72.57% accuracy in identifying specific cancer types ...

The Evolution and Recent Advances in Diagnostic Criteria for Idiopathic Multicentric Castleman Disease

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
Idiopathic Multicentric Castleman Disease. ABSTRACT Idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) is a rare cytokine‐driven disorder characterized by systemic inflammation, organ dysfunction, and altered lymph node microscopic architecture. Over the past decade, diagnostic criteria have evolved significantly, integrating clinical, histopathological,

The use of UniProtKB/BIOPEP for the analysis of oat globulin physicochemical parameters and bioactivity

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2018
The physico-chemical properties of oat proteins (globulins) were determined and an analysis was done whether products of in silico proteolysis contain mono- and multi-functional peptides with various biological activity.

A Novel Pathogenic Variant in CRB1 as the Cause of Non‐Syndromic Retinitis Pigmentosa in a Geographical Isolate in Northern Italy

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Non‐syndromic Retinitis Pigmentosa (NsRP) was well known as one of the causes of visual impairment already in the 19th century. Giuseppe Albertotti, Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Modena (Italy) in 1893, described a high prevalence of NsRP in a geographic isolate, the small village of Colloro, in northwestern Italy.
