Nuclear DNA content of 11 fungal species in Glomales

Genome, 1998
The nuclear DNA content of 11 species of Glomales was evaluated by flow cytometry after DAPI staining relative to Gigaspora margarita, which was used as internal standard. The nuclear DNA content of this species was calibrated by propidium iodide staining relative to chicken red blood cells. A correction was applied when the difference in AT content of

Taxonomy and phylogeny of the Glomales

1994
The importance of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in nutrient uptake by plants has been intensively studied (e.g., Sanders et al., 1974; Gianinazzi-Pearson and Gianinazzi, 1986). The fungal partners in these symbioses are currently placed in the Zygomycetes in the order Glomales.

Glomus, the Largest Genus of the Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (Glomales), Is Nonmonophyletic

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2001
Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi form a widespread and ecologically important symbiosis with plants in the land ecosystem. The phylogeny of the largest presently accepted genus, Glomus, of the monogeneric family Glomaceae (Glomales; AM fungi) was analyzed. Phylogenetic trees were computed from nearly full-length SSU rRNA gene sequences of 30 isolates,

Intraspecific ITS Polymorphism inScutellospora castanea(Glomales, Zygomycota) Is Structured within Multinucleate Spores

Fungal Genetics and Biology, 1999
Polymorphism of the internal transcribed spacers (ITS) of the ribosomal DNA in Scutellospora castanea (Glomales, Zygomycota) and its organization among spores were evaluated. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification with ITS1/ITS4 primers yielded several fragments of different lengths, even from single spores.

[Radiologic surveillance of irradiated glomal tumors].

Journal de radiologie, 1986
A favorable clinical result was obtained in 10 patients with jugular glomal tumors treated by external radiotherapy (approximately 50 Gy), alone or combined with surgical treatment, and preceded in some cases by embolization. Radiologic review examinations showed complete stability of lesions without bone reconstruction phenomena, in spite of a ...

[Differential diagnosis of glomus and glomal stomach tumors].

Voprosy onkologii, 1978
Two cases of glomangiomas of the stomach are described in detail. Moreover 8 cases of mixed glomus tumors of the stomach were clinically observed, one of them being previously described. The analysis of clinico-radiological and morphological features of these diseases, based both on the personal authors' and literature material enabled the conclusion ...

Problems with Fixation and Embedding of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (Glomales)

Mycologia, 1993
In order to conduct ultrastructural studies to clarify the nature of the spores formed in Glomales, an order of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, techniques for fixation and embedding of these spores were tested. Of nine methods, none was effective for fixation of Acaulospora, Gigaspora, and Scutellospora spores, but one was efficient for fixation of ...

Sporocarpic Endogonales and Glomales in the scats of Rattus and Perameles

Mycological Research, 1994
Fifteen species of fungi in the Glomales and Endogonales (Zygomycetes) were recovered from faecal pellets of species of Rattus and the bandicoot Perameles nasuta in the Sydney region and from Rattus villosissimus in the Simpson Desert. Fungi were recovered in all seasons of the year.
