Creatinine clearance and glomerular filtration rate [PDF]
A number ofthreads' of comment about creatinine clearance ran on the ACB mailbase from April 1999. (There is a mail archive on the ACB web site, http://www.acb.org.uk.) Topics included the validity of urine measurement in patients with olig- uria; the effect of meat in the diet on creatinine production; formulae for calculating creatinine clearance ...

This retrospective study explored the potential impact of renin–angiotensin system inhibitors (RASIs) on renal function during the ileostomy period in patients undergoing rectal cancer surgery. RASI use was associated with early postoperative renal impairment, and relatively slow recovery of renal function was observed until stoma closure.

Relationships between glomerular filtration rate and HRV/EEG parameters
Background. Sympathetic outflow may be capable of selectively increasing or decreasing glomerular capillary pressure and hence glomerular filtration rate (GFR) by differentially activating separate populations of renal nerves. Sympathetic outflow to the

One lithium level >1.0 mmol/L causes an acute decline in eGFR: findings from a retrospective analysis of a monitoring database [PDF]
Objectives Lithium is a mainstay of bipolar disorder treatment, however, there are still differences in opinion on the effects of lithium use on renal function.

ABSTRACT Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is common and a major contributor to increased morbidity and early mortality in people with sickle cell anemia (SCA). Urine albumin‐to‐creatinine ratio (uACR) is recommended to identify patients with SCA‐related CKD but its utility in predicting long‐term kidney dysfunction remains unclear in this patient ...
