Asymmetric Cu─N─Ru Bridgedsite Nanozyme‐Loaded Injectable Thermogel Boosts Cuproptosis‐Like Death for Multidrug‐Resistant Urinary Tract Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To address multidrug‐resistant urinary tract infections (MDR‐UTIs), we developed Cu‐ZIF8‐Ru nanozyme featuring an asymmetric Cu─N─Ru catalytic site. This unique structure enhances multienzyme‐mimetic activity, eradicating resistant bacteria by inducing a cuproptosis‐like death pathway through intracellular Cu2+ accumulation and energy depletion.

A Subset of Pro‐inflammatory CXCL10+ LILRB2+ Macrophages Derives From Recipient Monocytes and Drives Renal Allograft Rejection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a recipient‐derived monocyte‐to‐macrophage trajectory that drives inflammation during kidney transplant rejection. Using over 150 000 single‐cell profiles and more than 850 biopsies, the authors identify CXCL10+ macrophages as key predictors of graft loss.

Mitochondrial Transplantation as a Therapeutic Strategy for Inherited Mitochondrial Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial transplantation (MTx) offers a promising therapeutic avenue for mitochondrial diseases. This review comprehensively evaluates MTx, differentiating its feasibility for mtDNA‐ and nDNA‐based disorders. It examines its potential for genetic correction, alongside inherent limitations, technical challenges, and crucial ethical considerations ...

Postoperative Impact of Anti‐Inflammatory Drug on Cancer Recurrence in Patients With Locally Advanced Gastric Cancer After Curative Gastrectomy: A Pilot Retrospective Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Anti‐inflammatory drugs may be effective in improving recurrence‐free survival after radical gastrectomy in patients with pStage II or III gastric cancer. ABSTRACT Background Elevated postoperative inflammation is associated with reduced recurrence‐free survival (RFS) after gastrectomy in patients with gastric cancer, independent of postoperative ...

Impact of Renin‐Angiotensin System Inhibitors on Renal Function During Temporary Ileostomy Period in Rectal Cancer Patients: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This retrospective study explored the potential impact of renin–angiotensin system inhibitors (RASIs) on renal function during the ileostomy period in patients undergoing rectal cancer surgery. RASI use was associated with early postoperative renal impairment, and relatively slow recovery of renal function was observed until stoma closure.
