Beta-Glucans in Biotechnology: A Holistic Review with a Special Focus on Yeast
Beta-glucans (β-glucans) are polysaccharides with significant biological activity, widely recognized for their immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and metabolic health benefits. Among various sources, yeast-derived β-(1 → 3), (1 → 6)-glucans have gained

ABSTRACT Rationale Hemicelluloses are abundant carbohydrate components in plant cell walls. They play a crucial structural role in binding cellulose microfibrils, in addition to other biological functions. Their high structural variability directly influences their biological properties, making it important to establish a structure–function ...

This study presents a robust strategy for 3D printing conductive, mechanically resilient MXene–CNF composite structures using a single‐step freeze‐induced crosslinking method. The printed architectures remain stable in both wet and dry states, exhibit high electrical conductivity and mechanical strength, and demonstrate practical application in fully ...

B-Glucans in the Caryopsis of Sorghum Bicolor (L.) Moench
Fluorescence microscopy was used to determine the location of B- glucans in sorghum. Sections from three genetically different sorghum cultivars were stained with Calcofluor or Congo Red , fluorochromes which have been reported to react with 13-glucans ...

The polysaccharide Pullulan improves the initial steps of allergen‐specific immunotherapy in dogs
Abstract Background Allergen‐specific immunotherapy (AIT) is the only aetiological treatment for canine atopic dermatitis (CAD). Pullulan, a polysaccharide with immunomodulatory properties, may enhance AIT outcomes when combined with allergens such as recombinant Dermatophagoides farinae 2 (Der f 2).

Recognition of fungal glucans by pattern recognition receptors
Glucans are (1→3)-β-D linked polymers of glucose that are major constituents of fungal cells walls. Glucans are known to stimulate innate immunity and they are thought to be fungal pathogen associated molecular patterns.

Electrical Breakdown Analysis of Emerging Oil–Paper Insulation Systems
ABSTRACT This investigation addresses the effect of particulate additives on the electrical breakdown strength of the oil impregnated insulation paper system. The morphological complexity is addressed by converting data from scanning electron microscope images to a data set suitable for numerical simulation analysis. Then, by using the conventional oil‐

Monocytes Derived From Human Pluripotent Stem Cells Engineered for Detection of Pyrogens
In summary, we have developed a monocyte‐based reporter system using hESC‐Mono for interrogating the NF‐κB signalling axis, a central pathway governing pyrogenic responses. Our platform enables rapid and dose‐dependent detection of both endotoxins (LPS) and non‐endotoxins (LTA and Zymosan).

Cyclic β‐1,2‐glucan (CβG)‐associated solute‐binding protein of type I ABC transporter was originally identified in Chloroflexus aurantiacus, a phototrophic bacterium. Crystal structures in complex with CβGs revealed unique binding modes that are fundamentally distinct from that of the short β‐1,2‐glucooligosaccharides‐binding protein.
