Maternal brewer's yeast supplementation did not change the milk oligosaccharide (HMO) concentration, but more mothers felt their milk supply was increased, and fewer reported formula use by 6 months postpartum compared to those taking the placebo. This suggests the supplement may support breastfeeding, warranting further investigation in larger trials.

Roles of PknB and CslA in Cell Wall Morphogenesis of Streptomyces
Streptomyces grow by extending hyphal tips, a process regulated by polarisome complexes anchored by DivIVA. Using a genetic screen based on toxic DivIVA overproduction, we identified the kinase PknB as a key regulator of cell envelope construction.

The genetic architecture of leaf vein density and its importance for photosynthesis in maize
Vein types in maize leaves. Summary Leaf venation density has significantly increased during plant evolution. Higher densities are observed in angiosperms compared with early land plants, and among angiosperms, recently diverged C4 species have the highest values.

IgG to Various Beta-Glucans in a Human Adult Population
Background: Fungal β-(1,3)-glucans are pro-inflammatory agents, and exposures to β-(1,3)-glucans are associated with respiratory tract symptoms. IgG anti-(1,3)-glucan titers are measured in diagnosis of fungal infections.
