ABSTRACT Hyperglycaemia first diagnosed in pregnancy (HIP) is the most common medical condition affecting pregnancy, affecting up to 40% of pregnancies in some countries. The global incidence of HIP is increasing owing to rising rates of overweight and obesity, advanced maternal age, and early screening for HIP.

Neuregulin 4‐dependent MAPK amplification mediates urate‐induced β‐cell dysfunction
Hyperuricemia impairs glucose homeostasis by inducing pancreatic β‐cell apoptosis without insulin resistance. In male Uox‐KO mice, urate upregulates Nrg4, which amplifies MAPK signaling and drives β‐cell death. Thus, hyperuricemia disrupts glucose metabolism via the Nrg4‐MAPK axis.

ABSTRACT Diet composition and processing have a major impact on its utilisation by the animal, as is known from farm and pet animal species. This includes effects on energy and nutrient digestibility, the intermediary metabolism, and the intestinal microbiome, with all the resulting impacts. For laboratory animals, data is scarce on influencing factors

Using of the Glucometers Serial Interface by Sightless People
Many of the personal diagnostic systems mainly glucometers (for measuring glucose) contain a serial interface for PC connection. Through this interface it is possible to receive useful data that will be used mainly for an attending physician’s purpose to

Abstract Previous studies have demonstrated that mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) activity is significantly increased in the kidneys of Dahl salt‐sensitive (SS) rats during the development of renal injury. Therefore, in the present study we examined whether blockade of mTOR with rapamycin inhibits renal injury in Dahl salt‐sensitive leptin receptor
