Recent Advances in Glucose-Oxidase-Based Nanocomposites for Tumor Therapy.

Small, 2019
Glucose oxidase (GOx) can react with intracellular glucose and oxygen (O2 ) to produce hydrogen peroxide (H2 O2 ) and gluconic acid, which can cut off the nutrition source of cancer cells and consequently inhibit their proliferation.

Immobilized Glucose Oxidase in the Potentiometric Detection of Glucose

Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 1984
Previous work has shown that glucose oxidase can be immobilized on platinum to give an electrode that responds potentiometrically to glucose over the clinically useful range of about 10-250 mg glucose/100 mL. The present studies were carried out with electrochemically pretreated platinum and with gold or porous graphite substituted for the platinum ...

Glucose Oxidase-Instructed Fluorescence Amplification Strategy for Intracellular Glucose Detection.

ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2019
The accurate detection of glucose at cellular level remains a big challenge. In this study, a signal amplification strategy mediated by silver nanocube (AgNC), glucose oxidase (GOx), and silver ion fluorescence probe (denoted as AgNC-GOx/Ag+-FP) is ...

Effects of glucose oxidase in mice

Biochemical Pharmacology, 1964
Abstract The effects of glucose oxidase, which oxidizes glucose and produces H2O2, were studied in mice after intraperitoneal injection of supralethal doses of the enzyme. Such injections cause the appearance of hematin pigment in the plasma, up to 20 per cent of this pigment being methemoglobin.

"Non-Naked" Gold with Glucose Oxidase-Like Activity: A Nanozyme for Tandem Catalysis.

Small, 2018
It has been widely reported that "naked" gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) without protectors have glucose oxidase (GOx)-like activity, and the use of protectors can inhibit the GOx-like activity. Here, "non-naked" Au NPs with GOx-like activity are synthesized

Some studies of glucose oxidase

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1961
Abstract A commercial preparation of glucose oxidase is shown to oxidize d -glucose, d -galactose, d -mannose, and d -xylose at relative rates which are pH dependent. The product of these reactions is the corresponding glyconic acid which in each case is identified as the crystalline γ-lactone and amide.

Glucose oxidase of Phanerochaete chrysosporium

1988
Publisher Summary Glucose oxidase catalyzes the oxidation of D-glucose to δ-D-gluconolactone and H 2 O 2 in the presence of molecular oxygen. In a subsequent step δ -D-gluconolactone is nonenzymatically hydrolyzed to D-gluconic acid. This enzyme has been demonstrated in various Aspergillus and Penicillium species and has recently been purified ...

Immunologic Properties of Glucose Oxidase

The Journal of Immunology, 1970
Abstract Glucose oxidase, an anzyme obtained from Aspergillus niger, is a potent antigen. Guinea pigs and rabbits immunized with this antigen in complete Freund's adjuvant produced high serum concentrations of precipitating antibody. In addition, heat-inactivated enzyme and apoenzyme can be used to detect cellular immunity in the guinea ...
