Effect of Exercise and Insulin Signaling on Glucose Transporter Type 4 in Skeletal Muscles: A narrative review

open access: yesMajallah-i Dānishgāh-i ’Ulūm-i Pizishkī-i Shahīd Ṣadūqī Yazd, 2023
Introduction: Glucose transporter type 4 (GLUT4) is a membrane glucose transporter that is influenced by insulin signaling and muscle contraction.

Integrated control of transporter endocytosis and recycling by the arrestin-related protein Rod1 and the ubiquitin ligase Rsp5

open access: yeseLife, 2014
After endocytosis, membrane proteins can recycle to the cell membrane or be degraded in lysosomes. Cargo ubiquitylation favors their lysosomal targeting and can be regulated by external signals, but the mechanism is ill-defined. Here, we studied the post-

Energy-based Analysis of Biomolecular Pathways [PDF]

open access: yesProc. R. Soc. A 2017 473 20160825, 2016
Decomposition of biomolecular reaction networks into pathways is a powerful approach to the analysis of metabolic and signalling networks. Current approaches based on analysis of the stoichiometric matrix reveal information about steady-state mass flows (reaction rates) through the network.

Glucose uptake in Prochlorococcus: diversity of kinetics and effects on the metabolism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We have previously shown that Prochlorococcus sp. SS120 strain takes up glucose by using a multiphasic transporter encoded by the Pro1404 gene. Here, we studied the glucose uptake kinetics in multiple Prochlorococcus strains from different ecotypes ...

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

Intravenous Bone Marrow Mononuclear Cells Transplantation in Aged Mice Increases Transcription of Glucose Transporter 1 and Na+/K+-ATPase at Hippocampus Followed by Restored Neurological Functions

open access: yesFrontiers in Aging Neuroscience, 2020
We recently reported that intravenous bone marrow mononuclear cell (BM-MNC) transplantation in stroke improves neurological function through improvement of cerebral metabolism.

Mathematical Model of ingested glucose in Glucose-Insulin Regulation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Here, we develop a mathematical model for glucose-insulin regulatory system. The model includes a new parameter which is the amount of ingested glucose. Ingested glucose is an external glucose source coming from digested food. We assume that the external glucose or ingested glucose decays exponentially with time.

Comparative Analysis of Kinetic Realizations of Insulin Signaling [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Several studies have developed dynamical models to understand the underlying mechanisms of insulin signaling, a signaling cascade that leads to the translocation of glucose, the human body's main source of energy. Fortunately, reaction network analysis allows us to extract properties of dynamical systems without depending on their model parameter ...

Explicit consideration of topological and parameter uncertainty gives new insights into a well-established model of glycolysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Previous models of glycolysis in the sleeping sickness parasite Trypanosoma brucei assumed that the core part of glycolysis in this unicellular parasite is tightly compartimentalized within an organelle, the glycosome, which had previously been shown to ...

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells
