Boosting Photocatalytic Conversion of Glucose by Constructing Oxygen Vacancies in TiO2‐x

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of oxygen vacancy‐rich TiO2 nanomaterials enabling visible‐light‐driven photocatalytic glucose valorization. Under light irradiation, oxygen vacancies on the TiO2 surface enhance charge separation and ROS generation (·OH/·OOH), driving sequential glucose oxidation to gluconolactone, followed by C‐C cleavage into arabinose ...

LARGE2 generates the same xylose- and glucuronic acid-containing glycan structures as LARGE.

open access: yesGlycobiology, 2013
LARGE (like-glycosyltransferase) and LARGE2 (glycosyltransferase-like 1B (GYLTL1B)) are homologous Golgi glycosyltransferases possessing two catalytic domains with homology to members of glycosyltransferase families GT8 and GT49.

Bioactive polysaccharides and their potential health benefits in reducing the risks of metabolic syndrome: A review

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
Abstract Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a complex noncommunicable condition characterized by central obesity, insulin resistance, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and hyperglycemia. Epidemiological evidence shows that MetS affects a third of the global population; however, due to its complex pathogenesis and limited drug therapy options, the increasing ...

A reciprocal interaction between L‐lysine and Holdemanella biformis modulates intestinal barrier function and anxiety in irritable bowel syndrome

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a complex interaction between l‐lysine and Holdemanella biformis (H. biformis) in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). l‐lysine enhances intestinal barrier function and alleviates anxiety‐like behaviours by modulating tryptophan metabolism. In contrast, H. biformis improves gut barrier integrity but exacerbates anxiety‐like behaviours. H.

Dichloro (bis[diphenylthiourea]) cadmium complex as a precursor for HDA-capped CdS nanoparticles and their solubility in water

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Science, 2010
A single-source precursor route has been explored by using the diphenylthiourea cadmium complex as the source of cadmium sulphide (CdS) nanoparticles. The reaction was carried out using hexadecylamine (HDA) as the solvent and stabilising agent for the ...

STUDIES ON GLUCURONIC ACID BIOSYNTHESIS

open access: yesNihon Naika Gakkai Zasshi, 1955
1) URINARY EXCRETION OF THE PREFORMED GLUCURONIC ACID, AND THE INFLUENCE OF GLUCURONIC ACID UPON THE URINARY EXCRETION OF MEN-THYLGLUCURONIDE IN RABBITS.The preformed glucuronic acid injected to rabbit was excreted into the urine rapidly, and 75 to 90% of the injected dose was excreted within six hours.

Dextromethorphan versus Dextrorphan: A Quantitative Comparison of Antitussive Potency following Separate Administration of Metabolite

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract To assess the antitussive effects of dextrorphan (DOR) relative to its parent compound, dextromethorphan (DEX) a double‐blind, randomized, placebo‐controlled crossover study was conducted in 23 healthy volunteers using citric acid cough challenge test after administering placebo, DEX, or DOR.
