Alterations in Metabolites Associated With Umbilical Cord Blood in Monozygotic Twins Discordant for Congenital Heart Disease

open access: yesPediatric Discovery, EarlyView.
This study found that the metabolomic signature of umbilical venous cord blood in congenital heart disease (CHD) differs from that of healthy monozygotic (MZ) co‐twins. Dysregulation of metabolic pathways like glucose, lipid, and amino acid metabolism, along with altered metabolites, helps understand CHD predisposition.

Tuning adsorption and morphology in poly(glutamic acid) via controlled acidic partial deprotection

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Partial deprotection of poly(glutamic acid) generates morphologies and assemblies that match fully deprotected polypeptides in small‐molecule adsorption, extending to block copolypeptides with pH‐dependent effects. Abstract Synthetic polypeptides prepared from N‐carboxyanhydride (NCA) monomers are important platforms for environmental and medical ...

Proteome Analysis of Corynebacterium diphtheriae–Macrophage Interaction

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Contact of Corynebacterium diphtheriae with macrophages induces adaptations on both bacterial and cellular sides. The study presented here was aiming to shed light on the simultaneous intracellular adaptation of the bacteria and changes in the proteome of the phagocytes in response to the internalization of C. diphtheriae.

Coupling CZE, Liquid‐Phase Ion Mobility, to MS/MS for Quantitative Top‐Down Proteomics: Revealing Significant Proteoform Differences Between Healthy and Alzheimer's Disease Brains

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive decline and pathological protein aggregation. Comprehensive quantitative proteomics of brain tissues from AD patients is critical for pursuing a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms that drive AD progression.

Relief of pain associated with spasticity in adult patients after treatment with onabotulinumtoxinA: Post hoc observational results from the ASPIRE study

open access: yesPM&R, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Pain is often observed in patients with spasticity, but little is known about the relationship between pain and spasticity and the effectiveness of treating pain with botulinum toxins in these patients. Objective To explore onabotulinumtoxinA (onabotA) use and pain relief in patients with spasticity with pain at baseline.
