Progress in Surface Plasmon and Other Resonance Biosensors for Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This is the shortened version: Recent advancements in surface plasmon resonance and other optical resonance biosensors for biomedical applications are presented. Advanced sensing strategies are examined for the detection of diverse analytes, integration of nanomaterials and machine learning, and emerging nonplasmonic modes like guided mode resonance ...

Response of antioxidant system of tomato to water deficit stress and its interaction with ascorbic acid [PDF]

open access: yesZīst/shināsī-i Giyāhī-i Īrān, 2014
Environmental stresses including water deficit stress may produce oxidants such as reactive oxygen species that damage the membrane structure in plants.

Antioxidant status in women with uterine leiomyoma: relation with sex hormones

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências, 2015
Uterine leiomyomas are benign soft-tissues tumors that arise from uterine smooth muscle tissue. Etiopathogenesis of leiomyomas is not well understood. We aimed to examine whether antioxidant enzyme activities and lipid hydroperoxides level in patients ...

Scanning Electron Microscopy and Metabolite Measurement Revealed the Stress Mechanism of PS-COOH Microplastics on Rhodotorula mucilaginosa AN5 [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Microplastics in the marine environment have been paid more and more attention by researchers, and the impact of these substances on marine microorganisms can not be ignored. Studies have shown that PS-COOH Microplastics are harmful to marine molluscs, algae and monads.

FUS Selectively Facilitates circRNAs Packing into Small Extracellular Vesicles within Hypoxia Neuron

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study aimed to unravel the role of FUS in the loading of functional circRNAs into neuronal sEVs under hypoxic conditions, which involves their aggregations in SGs and specific interaction between the FUS Zf_RanBP domain to regulate circRNA sorting in sEVs.

Time course of oxidative damage in different brain regions following transient cerebral ischemia in gerbils [PDF]

open access: yesNeuroscience Research 41(3): 233-241 (2001), 2007
The time course of oxidative damage in different brain regions was investigated in the gerbil model of transient cerebral ischemia. Animals were subjected to both common carotid arteries occlusion for 5 min. After the end of ischemia and at different reperfusion times (2, 6, 12, 24, 48, 72, 96 h and 7 days), markers of lipid peroxidation, reduced and ...

Shrimp Virus Regulates ROS Dynamics via the Nrf2 Pathway to Facilitate Viral Replication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Viruses manipulate host ROS as a strategy to achieve successful infection. WSSV exploits Nrf2 pathway to maintain ROS homeostasis and establishes a positive feedback loop to facilitate WSSV replication. Wsv220 competitively binds to Keap1 to activate Nrf2. Nrf2 up‐regulates LvG6PDH to produce more NADPH and GSH to eliminate excessive ROS.

Metabolism of hydroperoxy-phospholipids in human hepatoma HepG2 cells

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1996
Two enzymatic mechanisms have been proposed for the metabolism of hydroperoxy-phospholipids: i) the combined action of phospholipase A2 and glutathione peroxidase, and/or ii) direct enzymatic reduction.
