Investigation of the Role of Plasticizers in Film-forming Coats for Protecting Cooled Meat [PDF]
As a result of theoretical studies on problems of protection and prolongation of storage terms of meat, it was revealed, that one of promising directions is to use protecting coats, based on natural biopolymers. The topicality of this study is in studying

Surface plasmon toy-model of a rotating black hole
Recently introduced surface plasmon toy black hole model has been extended in order to emulate a rotating black hole (Kerr metric). Physical realization of this model involves a droplet of an optically active liquid on the metal surface which supports ...

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

In Vitro Flow Modelling for Mitral Valve Leakage Quantification [PDF]
In this study particle image velocimetry (PIV) is used to measure and visualise the blood flow through a leaking mitral heart valve. The results are compared with the results from Doppler echocardiography and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Using CAD,

The role of lipid metabolism in neuronal senescence
Disrupted lipid metabolism, through alterations in lipid species or lipid droplet accumulation, can drive neuronal senescence. However, lipid dyshomeostasis can also occur alongside neuronal senescence, further amplifying tissue damage. Delineating how lipid‐induced senescence emerges in neurons and glial cells, and how it contributes to ageing and ...

Evaluation of Dietary Glycerin Inclusion During Different Broiler Rearing Phases
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the dietary addition of different levels of glycerin on the performance, litter moisture, pododermatitis incidence, and carcass and parts yield of broilers. In total, 1,610 broilers were reared in

Feeding behavior of dairy cows in feedlot and fed on crude glycerin levels in the diet
Current experiment evaluated the inclusion effect of crude glycerin levels in the diet on the feeding behavior of confined dairy cows. Fifteen crossbred Holsteinx Zebu cows were used, divided into three 5 x 5 Latin squares, with treatments: control (no ...
