Lipid regulation of adenylyl cyclase Rv1625c from Mycobacterium tuberculosis by its membrane‐domain receptor

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
The adenylyl cyclase (AC) Rv1625c from M. tuberculosis is a monomeric progenitor of the nine pseudoheterodimeric mammalian AC isoforms. The hexahelical membrane anchor of Rv1625c serves as an inhibitory receptor for fatty acids, particularly oleic acid. One ligand binds into each monomer of the active Rv1625c dimer.

Cadherin‐6 controls neuronal migration during mouse neocortical development via an integrin‐mediated pathway

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Neuronal migration plays essential roles in the establishment of mammalian brains, and its impairment causes severe developmental abnormalities and behavioral and cognitive deficits. Here, we report that cadherin‐6 (CDH6), an unusual cadherin molecule containing an RGD integrin‐binding motif in the first extracellular domain, controls the motility of ...

A phosphoserine phosphatase variant present in the brain of Alzheimer's disease patients favors nuclear mistargeting

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
l‐serine levels in the human brain are maintained by the phosphorylated pathway, a three‐step process catalyzed by phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase (PHGDH), phosphoserine aminotransferase (PSAT) and phosphoserine phosphatase (PSP). These enzymes assemble in a metabolon called the serinosome. The double R27S/D32G PSP variant was identified in the brain of

Phosphoproteomic analysis reveals the diversity of signaling behind ErbB‐inhibitor‐induced phenotypes

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Whole‐organism phosphoproteomics after ErbB inhibitor treatment was assessed in zebrafish embryos. Differential signaling was uncovered after treatments with more selective ErbB inhibitors and pan‐ErbB inhibitors, despite similar neurological and myocardial phenotypes.

CD59, Disulphide‐Locked Human C9 and Horse C9 Inhibit Human Membrane Attack Complex Assembly by Similar Mechanisms

open access: yesImmunology, EarlyView.
The membrane attack complex (MAC) is formed by the stepwise assembly of five proteins: C5b, C6, C7, C8 and C9. MAC plays a key role in driving inflammation in numerous diseases. This study compares the inhibitory mechanisms of MAC assembly by soluble CD59 (sCD59), a disulphide‐locked C9 mutant (C9lock) and horse C9 (HoC9).
