Polarity of neutral glycolipids, gangliosides, and sulfated lipids in MDCK epithelial cells.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1988
Confluent monolayers of MDCK (Madin-Darby canine kidney) cells provide a widely used model system for studying epithelial cell polarity. We determined the polarity of epithelial cell plasma membrane glycolipids and sulfated lipids by analyzing the lipids

Suitability of Solvent-Assisted Extraction for Recovery of Lipophilic Phytochemicals in Sugarcane Straw and Bagasse

open access: yesFoods, 2022
Sugarcane is primarily harvested to meet up to 80% of global sugar demand. Recently, lipids recovered from their biomass (straw and bagasse) have attracted much attention due to their possible utilisation in biofuel production but also by the presence of

Redox‐Responsive Polymeric Nanocapsules for Enhanced Tumor‐Targeted Delivery of Antimicrobial Peptides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a modular redox‐responsive nanocapsule platform that enables enhanced tumor‐targeted delivery of antimicrobial peptides. Using melittin as an example, the system achieves controlled activation within the tumor microenvironment, improving intratumoral accumulation while minimizing systemic toxicity.

Shiga Toxin (Stx)-Binding Glycosphingolipids of Primary Human Renal Cortical Epithelial Cells (pHRCEpiCs) and Stx-Mediated Cytotoxicity

open access: yesToxins, 2021
Human kidney epithelial cells are supposed to be directly involved in the pathogenesis of the hemolytic–uremic syndrome (HUS) caused by Shiga toxin (Stx)-producing enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC). The characterization of the major and minor Stx-

A Multiepitope‐Based Lateral Flow Assay for Leprosy Antibodies

open access: yesAnalysis &Sensing, EarlyView.
An innovative lateral flow assay for leprosy diagnosis is based on gold nanoparticles and synthetic Mycobacterium leprae epitopes conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin protein to enhance antibody detection. This strategy provides a rapid, accurate, and low‐cost approach for resource‐limited settings, enabling the early detection of infection. Leprosy
