Cardenolide‐Engineered Extracellular Vesicles Augment Drug Uptake and Cytotoxicity in Non‐small Cell Lung Cancer Cells

Cardenolide‐functionalized extracellular vesicles enable targeted delivery of the chemotherapeutic doxorubicin to A549 lung cancer cells by binding Na+/K+‐ATPase, which is overexpressed in these cells. Solamargine induces acute myeloid leukemia differentiation through TLR8 activation

SM, a steroidal alkaloid from Solanum nigrum L. has shown anticancer effect on various kinds of human cancer cells, yet its effect on leukemia cells remains unclear. This study examines antileukemic activities of SM in AML cells. Results indicate SM inhibits growth and promotes apoptosis of AML cells.
