Factors affecting U.S. sorghum and cotton exports: A dynamic ARDL simulation approach

open access: yesJournal of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association, EarlyView.
Abstract The U.S. faces increasing competition from Argentina and Brazil for sorghum and cotton exports. Using a dynamic Auto Regressive Distributed Lag model, this study shows that U.S. sorghum and cotton exports are positively affected by area harvested, yield, and export price.

Recognizing the Health Benefits of Plant‐Sourced Omega‐3 Stearidonic Acid: Exploring Its Complementary Role to Preformed EPA/DHA

open access: yesLipids, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Long‐chain (LC) omega‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) like eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are crucial for optimal development, healthy aging, and disease management. Traditionally sourced from fatty fish, these omega‐3 PUFAs face sustainability challenges, prompting increased exploration of plant‐based ...

Sustainable Shell Formulations as Alternative to the Conventional Soft Gelatin Capsules in Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Applications. A Review.

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
In soft capsules (SCs), four crucial factors can modify the properties of the shell: the shell formulation, its interaction with the fill material, the SC production and its storage conditions. Gelatin is the most used gelling agent for SCs nowadays, but they have some drawbacks which can be solved including other alternative polymers in the shell ...

Improving hospital nutrition care through “Indigenous cultural safety” of menu options: Results of a cross‐sectional survey of Indigenous people in Western Canada

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Hospital nutrition services rarely offer Indigenous‐specific menu options, an essential element of delivering “Indigenous cultural safety” in nutrition care to Indigenous patients. Methods Indigenous participants (n = 370) completed a semistructured Indigenous Food Ways survey (paper‐based and online) from 2021 to 2022 as part of ...
