GnRH agonist versus GnRH antagonist in in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF/ET)

open access: yesReproductive Biology and Endocrinology, 2012
Several protocols are actually available for in Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer. The review summarizes the main differences and the clinic characteristics of the protocols in use with GnRH agonists and GnRH antagonists by emphasizing the major ...

Long-term effects of GnRH agonist, GnRH antagonist, and estrogen plus progesterone treatment on apoptosis related genes in rat ovary.

open access: yes, 2009
Objective: To define the long-term effects of GnRH antagonist, GnRH agonist, and estrogen plus progesterone treatments on apoptosis and apoptosis-related gene expressions, including bcl2, bax, and cyt c in rat ...

TRPM8 and TRPM2 ion channels determine sex differences in thermal preference in mice

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Too hot or too cold? How do we know? Animals seek a ‘comfort temperature’ in between ‘too hot’ (far left) and ‘too cold’ (far right). In mammals and birds, females (left) prefer warmer temperatures than males (right). We show here that in mice, the comfort temperature is determined by a balance of sensory input (black arrows ...

Self‐Assembly of Therapeutic Peptides for Enhanced Cancer Therapy: Strategies, Therapeutic Performance, and Future Perspectives

open access: yesMedComm – Biomaterials and Applications, Volume 5, Issue 4, December 2026.
Therapeutic peptide self‐assembly is governed by multiple non‐covalent interactions, enabling the construction of diverse supramolecular structures. These self‐assembled systems can be engineered through spontaneous self‐assembly of monomers, co‐assembly, or stimulus‐responsive strategies to improve tumor delivery efficiency.

GnRH antagonist versus agonist in normoresponders undergoing ICSI: a randomized clinical trial in Iran [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Background: General concern is that the pregnancy rate is higher with GnRH-agonist as a protocol of pituitary suppression. GnRH-antagonist protocol provides a shorter period of administration and an easy flexible protocol.

Evaluation of the effects of gonadotropin-relasing hormone antagonist (GnRH-ant) and agonist (GnRH-a) in the prevention of postoperative adhesion formation in a rat model with immunohistochemical analysis

open access: yes, 2011
Objective: To investigate the effects of GnRH antagonist (GnRH-ant) and agonist (GnRH-a) in the prevention of postoperative pelvic adhesions by a visual scoring system and immunohistochemical methods in a rat uterine horn ...

Histological Findings in Testes of Baboons (Papio spp.) and Dwarf Bucks (Capra hircus) Subject to Repeated Immunisation Against GnRH

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 6, November 2026.
Long‐term repeated immunisation against GnRH resulted in the absence of active spermatogenesis and may lead to irreversible infertility in dwarf bucks and baboons. Histological examination revealed a marked reduction of the seminiferous tubular lumen, complete depletion of germ cells, germ cell vacuolization and tubular hyalinization.

Microbial and Metabolic Correlates of Endometrial Dysfunction in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Translational Study

open access: yesBJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics &Gynaecology, Volume 133, Issue 12, Page 2092-2102, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) exhibit a substantially increased risk of miscarriage, yet the underlying mechanisms remain inadequately understood. This study aimed to investigate whether specific gut microbial dysbiosis and metabolic disturbance are associated with and may potentially contribute to endometrial ...

Arcuate kisspeptin neurons display two types of calcium events: Regulation by sex, gonads, and senktide

open access: yesJournal of Neuroendocrinology, Volume 38, Issue 11, November 2026.
Abstract The pattern of gonadotropin‐releasing hormone (GnRH) release controls reproduction in vertebrates and is regulated by feedback from the gonads. Evidence is accumulating that steroid‐sensitive hypothalamic arcuate kisspeptin–neurokinin B–dynorphin (KNDy) neurons drive GnRH pulses.
