A measure for workplace goal orientation was developed and validated across three independent samples. In Study 1 (n = 415), scales for workplace learning, performance, and avoidance goal orientation were developed. Study 2 (n = 511) examined the scales’ associations with dispositional goal orientations and employee achievements.

Abstract. We investigated the construct and criterion-related validity of workplace goal orientation via two studies. Aiming to extend prior findings on this construct ( Van Dam, 2015 ), in Study 1 ( N = 334), we inspected the predictive role that learning, performance-approach, and performance-avoidance goal orientation at work play in terms of ...

Abstract In recent years workflow management systems have become a well known option of work automatisation. However, there are several disadvantages that lessen improvements in work organisation achieved by application of the workflow management systems. The main problem is the strict definitions of tasks imposed by the systems.

Goal Oriented Requirements Engineering
2002Motivation for goal-driven requirements engineering: In (Lamsweerde, 2000), Axel van Lamsweerde defines Requirements Engineering (RE) as “concerned with the identification of goals to be achieved by the envisioned system, the operationalisation of such goals into services and constraints, and the assignment of responsibilities of resulting requirements

Goal Orientations: Three Perspectives on Motivation Goal Orientations
2012Motivation is the force that propels an individual’s engagement with a given course of action. The notion of goal orientations plays a central role in models of language learning that include motivation. Typically, in language learning theorizing, a goal orientation is viewed as a reason, or a cluster of reasons for learning the language.

Two criteria are traditionally used for model parameter estimation and model structure identification: (C-1) fitting observation data; and (C-2) honoring prior information. As we have shown in Chaps. 3 and 7, these two criteria cannot determine a model uniquely by solving either classical inverse problem (CIP) or extended inverse problem (EIP) when ...

Goal-Oriented Coordination with Cumulative Goals
2022Multi-actor coordination is in general a complex problem, with inefficient and brittle solutions. This paper addresses the problem of abstract coordination of multiple actors at the goal-level, which often enables us to avoid these problems. Goals in multi-actor settings often rely on the cumulative efforts of a group of distinct actors whose ...

Goal Orientation, Goal Difficulty, and Incentive Values of Academic Goals
Psychological Reports, 2005We examined relationships among goal attributes (difficulty and affective value) and goal types (mastery, performance, intrinsic, and extrinsic). Goal attributes of positive affect value and relative salience of positive value were higher for intrinsic goals, mastery goals, and more difficult goals, qualified by an interaction between difficulty and ...

Employee Goal Orientation, Work Unit Goal Orientation and Employee Creativity
Creativity and Innovation Management, 2015For employee creativity to occur, organizations must build a context conducive to creativity, in addition to identifying employees with creative potential. Complementing and extending earlier research, we develop and test a cross‐level model about how work unit goal orientation might relate to employee creativity.
