Construction of an attenuated goatpox virus AV41 strain by deleting the TK gene and ORF8-18

Antiviral Research, 2018
Goatpox virus (GTPV) is prevalent in goats and is associated with high mortality. This virus causes fever, skin nodules, lesions in the respiratory and lymph node enlargement. Considering the safety risks and side effects of vaccination with attenuated live GPTV vaccine strain AV41, an attenuated goatpox virus (GTPV-TK-ORF), was constructed by deleting

Identification of an intergenic region that is not essential for replication of goatpox virus

Archives of Virology, 2010
A recombinant goatpox virus was constructed in which an enhanced green fluorescent protein gene was inserted under the control of the 11K late promoter, a guanine phosphoribosyltransferase gene was inserted under the control of the 7.5K early/late promoter, and exogenous genes were inserted into an intergenic region between loci gp_24 and gp_24.5 of ...

Molecular characterization of Indian sheeppox and goatpox viruses based on RPO30 and GPCR genes

Virus Genes, 2014
Sheeppox and goatpox are economically important diseases of small ruminants caused by sheeppox virus (SPPV) and goatpox virus (GTPV), respectively. Although SPPV and GTPV have host preference, some strains may infect both sheep and goats. As capripox viruses (SPPV, GTPV and LSDV) are antigenically related but genetically distinct, their differentiation

Identification of four goatpox virus outbreaks in Xinjiang of China in 2010

Proceedings 2011 International Conference on Human Health and Biomedical Engineering, 2011
Goat pox is contagious viral diseases of small ruminants and are caused by goat pox virus that belong to genus Capripoxvirus of Poxviridae family. The disease epidemics cause significant economic losses for sheepindustry. This communication highlights clinico-epidemiological observations from the four goat pox outbreaks in Xinjiang China in 2010.

An improved system for constructing marker-free recombinant goatpox viruses to express foreign proteins

Research in Veterinary Science, 2019
Goatpox virus (GTPV), belonging to the genus Capripoxvirus in the family Poxviridae, causes a contagious disease affecting goats and sheep. Homologous recombination as a conventional method is commonly used to construct recombinant GTPVs but generally with genetic markers, such as enhanced green fluorescent protein (eGFP) and guanine phosphoribosyl ...

The current state of the problem of sheeppox and goatpox in the world

Veterinariya, Zootekhniya i Biotekhnologiya
The aim of this work was to analyze modern literature sources on pathologies of small ruminants (sheeppox and goatpox) in the world using domestic and foreign bibliographic databases. This study collected up-to-date information on emerging especially dangerous and quarantine (sheep pox and goat pox) infections.

Vaccine-induced goatpox in an imported Saanen goat flock in Jordan

Preventive Veterinary Medicine, 1990
Abstract An outbreak of goatpox in a Saanen goat flock imported from a non-endemic area followed subcutaneous vaccination with 103 TCID50 of tissue-culture origin live Georgian-strain goatpox 2 weeks after arrival. Pox lesions were first observed a week after vaccination, and new lesions continued to appear for the following 2 weeks.

Complete genome sequence analysis of goatpox virus isolated from China shows high variation

Veterinary Microbiology, 2014
Goatpox virus (GTPV), a member of the Capripoxvirus genus of the Poxviridae family, is the causative agent of variolo caprina (goatpox). GTPV can cause significant economic losses of domestic ruminants in endemic regions and can threaten breeding stocks.

[Characterization of a recombinant goatpox virus expressing Orfv F1L gene].

Wei sheng wu xue bao = Acta microbiologica Sinica, 2014
In order to establish the vaccine against the contagious ecthyma, we constructed and characterized recombinant goatpox virus expressing F1L protein of Orf virus. The F1L gene was amplified and cloned into the vector pUC-TK12 carrying the LacZ gene and a bidirectional promoter.
