Coherent vibrations of submicron spherical gold shells in a photonic crystal
Coherent acoustic radial oscillations of thin spherical gold shells of submicron diameter excited by an ultrashort optical pulse are observed in the form of pronounced modulations of the transient reflectivity on a subnanosecond time scale.

Gold(I)-catalyzed domino cyclization for the synthesis of polyaromatic heterocycles
Gold(I) complexes have emerged as powerful and useful catalysts for the formation of new C–C, C–O and C–N bonds. Taking advantage of the specificity of [IPrAuNCMe][SbF6] complexes to favor the 5-exo-dig cyclization over the 6-endo-dig pathway, we report ...

Synthesis and characterization of amphiphilic triazole ligand and its complex for potential application in phosphorescent temperature sensor materials [PDF]
Phosphorescent materials have attracted much attention due to their promising applications in sensors, display, and optical imaging. Extensive studies have reported on trinuclear gold (I) complexes such as imidazolate, pyrazolate and carbeniete ; however,

Temporal expression normalisation in natural language texts [PDF]
Automatic annotation of temporal expressions is a research challenge of great interest in the field of information extraction. In this report, I describe a novel rule-based architecture, built on top of a pre-existing system, which is able to normalise ...

Preliminary Biological Assessments of Some Algae Basis Biomaterials
Four types of algae—Porphyra umbilicalis, Undaria pinnatifida, Cystoseira barbata, and Chlorella sp.—were used to obtain crude bioproducts enriched in polysaccharides (four bioproducts) and to create formulations enriched with gold cations (four ...

X-ray Crystal Structures and the Facile Oxidative (Au−C) Cleavage of the Dimethylaurate(I) and Tetramethylaurate(III) Homologues [PDF]
Dimethylaurate(I) has been prepared as the crystalline tetrabutylammonium salt for comparison with the known tetramethylaurate(III) analogue. The linear structure of dimethylaurate(I) and the square-planar structure of tetramethylaurate(III) have both ...

International Reserves Crises, Monetary Integration and the Payments System during the International Gold Standard [PDF]
I model an international payments system with a financial center and periphery to reproduce various aspects of the International Gold Standard. This period was characterized by frequent crises associated with scarce stocks of reserves, high short-term ...

A Myth of "the Keynesian before Keynes:" Low Interest Rate Policy in the Early 1930s in Japan [PDF]
Departing from the gold standard was the necessary condition for early recovery from the Great Depression in 1930s (Eichengreen and Sachs[1985]). Then, was it the sufficient condition for an independent monetary policy?
